Engine paint question

Is the paint on the engine side cover powder coat or regular paint?

When I bought the bike it had a lot of pits on the front of the stator cover and was thinking about re-finishing next time I drain the oil.

I believe it's painted.

I had an old cover powder coated, he called it gun metal.

It was a perfect match. It has since gone to a new home on this site.
