I have been having two problems. First, I am a forward sitting rider and get as close to the tank as possible without squeezing the cohones too much. When I ride in the daytime when the temperature is in the 90's, it gets so hot, it starts burning the insides of my thighs and the tank is so hot near where the seat is, it gets worrisome. I didn't have this problem until this summer, and am wondering if it is a major problem or something that happens to everybody. The second problem is that I was wondering if anyone gets some strange engine vibration that always starts when I hit 86 MPH exactly. It runs perfectly any other time until I get up to that speed. Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated, and Thanks!!
Yeah, the 'ole heat issue...great responses there. But since you're a FNG, I'll help you out with the vibration. First, you'll need to remove the battery, then find this component: (for clarity I photographed it the last time I had it out of my 05)
Following service manual guidelines, reset it so it engages *cleanly* at 88 MPH. Problem solved.
Oh, and hold on when testing.
