Locked in a lodge room for 2 up, 22-24th. May leave Tue or Wed from Logan, OH area and weave cross country to see more of western Appalachia.
Annette and I will probably be passing through your area on mon or tues that week. Want to spend some more time exploring and enjoying that area of Ohio...
As we get closer to EOM11 Linda and I will have better plans. If you travel down US33 E, Lancaster to Logan, you'll go right by our place. There' some good rides in the area when there hooked together.

Reservation confirmed.

Anyone in for an SS1K 2up on the way down? Let me know.

Just don't tell Ann yet.

Dave & Ann
I am 1 up and would like to slap down in a day. 08FJR4ME, I think you have to come right by Stafford springs CT on I 84 where I am at. Also if we can get Mr. Bill to join us that would be good. I'll go rattle his cage and see what he is up to.

Just now getting around to reading this in detail. Sounds like a lot of fun, and I know the area is beautiful. I've added it to my calendar, but it's too far off for me to commit to as far as reservations. If I am able to make the trip, I'll probably have to settle for a nearby motel room, but that's OK. September seems to be a generally busy month for me, so like I said, it's on my calendar, and somewhere in the next several months I'll be able to get a better sense things will be like 10 months from now.

S76,

I do tend to push the upper end of the ODO a bit. Rain doesn't seem to slow me down none much either. So if your comfortable with that we can see whats up as time gets closer.

I had called the campground about camp sites, they just called back and said that they were re-numbering the sites and it would be March before you could get a camp site. So the campground is not full. I have a toyhauler so I thank I'll bring it with the bike and camp. It should be a lot of fun.

Great!!! :yahoo: Thanks for the info

I think they have a 28' limit on RV's, but I've never been here so you may want to call the park direct if you have a big rig.

LATEST ON CAMP SITES.

I spoke to my contact at Cumberland Falls this afternoon. As stated above, Due to some post-season maintainance, the campsite have been taken out of the reservations system until this spring. Look for thier availiblity to post in March. With the interest expressed here, I am working to get a modification to the room block to get campsites added. More to follow in a couple months.

It has been great to see the positive comments and activity on the reservation site so early!

Hey, I live in Lexington, KY just up the road from Cumberland Falls State Park. I been on most those roads in that area either on my bike or in a car. Let me know if you have any logistical questions like:

Can you buy alcohol in the area?

Or where's the nearest / best Yamaha Dealership cause that thingy on my bike fell off on that last ride?

Or now that I hurt myself, where do I find someone to do help me?

Looking forward to everyone coming to my neighborhood!

Hey Hutch, small world. I live in Wilmore!

With all the hillbilly bashing (yeah, we've got them here) ;) , I was almost afraid to say, "Cumberland Falls is almost in my back yard" but I guess misery loves company and since you came out of the closet (on this) first, I can join in. :)

Like a couple of others have said, I can't commit on a room this early but with it being so close, hell, I can just zip down for a day or two :)

Also, Lee's Yamaha/Kawasaki, as Hutch mentioned/linked, is a great business. In fact, Lee's son Mark is the one who sold me on the FJR last fall.... BUT... if time and distance are of the importance, there's a dealership just a bit closer on I75 in Richmond as well.

https://www.i75yamaha.com/ , though I have no experience with them. I can vouch for the courtesy and professionalism at Lee's (just don't get sucked into an hour long conversation with Lee about hare scrambles. He can entertain for days)

Hey DJ, You know what they say in Kentucky. Everyone here is cousins...

Hope to ride with ya soon. We should do the EOM for sure. Lets build our team.

:chuckle:

Definitely. I put a new battery in the bike this afternoon and I'm hoping to get it out on Friday. I'll ride to work if they call me in. I'll ride anywhere if I'm off for the day (probably going to hit Bourbon N' Tolouse. I'm craving some etouffee.)

I'm glad to hear there's a few other Feej riders around here. I've only seen about 3 other bikes in the area and haven't had a chance to spread camaraderie... We've got another rider in Winchester with Semongtanlie (spelling is atrocious there, sorry Will!). Definitely gotta get together and the EOM is on the calender. I told the wife about it tonight and she's up for whatever we can fit into the schedule. :)

DJ Brady & curvercarver,

Glad to have some local help; best kind of intel gathers... If you're up for it, I'd like to build a list of local services, etc. to use as a rider's quick reference guide.

I'll probably be down that way in April to meet with my contact at Cumberland Falls face to face. I'll keep in touch.

I'm about 70 miles from Cumberland Falls but I'll give you all the info I can think of.

Riding the falls area is beautiful. Also look into some loops around the Natural Bridge area, about 2 hours from Cumberland Falls near Slade, Ky. I can post up info as I think of it in this thread or if you want to keep 'clutter' to a minimum, we can discuss it elsewhere.
