219 in WV gets two thumbs up! I've done it a bunch of times.
True. One suggestion: Once you get to Thomas WV, go east down through Canaan Valley and over to Seneca rocks, then down to White Sulphur. The part of 219 through Elkins ain't much. Or you can go down to Seneca, then back over west to about Marlinton and hit the really good part of 219 down to L-burg.
But don't tell anyone.
If you can manage 220 from about Moorefield to Warm Springs, west 39 to 219, you will do one of the best stretches in the area. Or even 220 to Covington, Hot Springs to Cov. is pure pleasure/ fun for smooth, tight side to side, when in the area. Another super smooth valley ride of the general area is Rt. 18 So. from Covington to Paint bank, best buffalo burger anywhere at Paint Bank. These counties each side of the state line have never proven a bad ride. Easy for me to say, I'm home and my 06 has enjoyed about 50k around these humps.

Hello gang,

Is this a closed group? or do you welcome newcomers? It seems like many of you are regulars, so the thread doesn't have much detail on the format of the gathering. But I sure would like to hang with a bunch of FJR riders and see some windy roads.

Neil.

Open group. This is an annual event that is pretty set in format. Read through and ask questions to find out what you need to know

Neil - absolutely all riders welcome, even non-FJR's (but they'll need thick skin..)

Some regulars are from north of the border - Huron52, Yamafitter, Rayzerman, Bungie...

Well, if you want windy roads you need to go to Kansas for those. All Lewisburg has is twisty roads.

Sorry Neil, Better luck next time, Welcome aboard.

So this is the first thing I stumbled on after a few years away from the forum? Ok, I'm in.

At least I will know one person...

Imagine my shock moving to NC from Kansas last month...all these roads with more than "one turn" are quite the surprise.

Should be fun to meet a new group. I've done several SFO's but it's been awhile-some of those guys can really party. It will be interesting to compare.

Are the Friday and Saturday rides organized group rides?

Routes will be posted before the rally.

Rides are generally organized in the parking lot the evening before each day. You meet up with some folks over a beer or something and decide who you'd like to ride with and make a plan to do it. Groups are usually kept small for safety and convenience, though some groups get larger depending on who gets volunteered to lead and what that leader is willing to do.

I know the general area. I'm west of you by a couple hours. I don't know the Yamaha dealer in that area, but the BMW shop is a good one.
