Wife and I toured TALA, Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum about 5 years ago. Very interesting history of just how we used to treat the mentally ill. Sad in many ways. People sent there were basically guinea pigs for sometimes off the wall and even cruel treatments that now would have those doctors brought up on criminal charges. Funny too, just what could have a person committed back then. It was an easy way for husbands to get rid of their wives without the mess and cost of divorce.

Former West Virginia State Penitentiary in Moundsville is another interesting tour if you like that sort of thing. Also not too far is the Hare Krishna Palace of Gold.

I love the Tippy Canoe!! I used to work just up the ridge from there.... Small world. Never thought I would see anyone post anything about the tiny town of Tidioute. Yay.
