OK...so my throttle hand's been getting achy since I bought the bike (but not my left hand). I put on Lenker Adapters and that helped a bit, but not totally. Then a couple of days ago I notice the difference in my two hands - the left wrist is rotated more towards me than the right. Then I remember the little adjuster that lets you set the distance of the brake lever from the grip. I was set at 5 which, because I always keep 2 fingers on the lever, was causing my wrist to be rotated more away from me (and more on top of the grip. Shit! What a bonehead!

So I dialed it down to 1 and lo and behold the achyness is much reduced. Haven't gone on a total long D ride yet, but I anticipate much better comfort.

Can you pull the handle completely to the grip @ 1 setting? IOW, do you still have full travel of the lever without compromising the braking? I'm thinking if your pads are thin you might end up getting real close to running out of "throw". Although Yamaha probably already thought of this. Just being Devil's Advocate, here. I have mine set on 2 or 3. And Lenkers. With a LOT less wrist problems, too.

Did you also rotate the lever on the bars? I set mine a bit lower so my hand is turned over, not under, to even rest my fingers on the levers.

LOL! I just reported you FJRocket...another board I frequent has the "reply" button exactly where this board has the "report" button...oh well.

Anyways, yeah I was thinking of rotating the lever a bit and then letting out the adjustment to 2 or 3.

I also the center return spring on the throttle body (the center spring). Still plenty of return pressure, but a little less wrist pain.

Not me. I can touch the levers, but not grab them with my fingertips if they are set at 5. That's why I adjusted them in to 2 or 3.

Oh, but yes, I can cover the levers with them rotated down. They aren't very far down, just a bit lower than paralell to my forearms. Maybe 5 degrees? Not much down, just a wee bit less than straight.

Jet, thanks for "busting" me on the other board. I'll go see if I can still post over there. :D

Try a Throttlemiester, my pain has been gone since my break period. I love it.

(CAUTION: don't use it for break in period)
