European Helmets

I just received my new shoei neotec from Motostorm. I ordered the hi-vis immanent graphic on Saturday. The helmet shipped Monday from Italy and was in my hands this afternoon! Total with shipping (after using two 20 euro coupons) was $537.

The fit is the same as the US model however, the helmet has a rachet type chin strap vs. the d-ring type on US models.

Intrestingly, while the helmet doesn't have a DOT sticker on it, it comes with a statement saying it meets all US federal standards. Not sure how this would be accepted by law enforcement or us courts.

Ratchet strap? Those are cool, and very easy to operate -- even with gloves.

As far as enforcement, I've never had anybody ask about my helmet's DOT sticker.

I second the ratchet straps..

And all of NYPD gets a flyer in the spring usually that warns of typical infractions. The DOT label is specifically mentioned there. (At least in the version I saw posted online)
