If anyone has had experince with having a bike shipped across the US, please pass along details, including the carrier, boxing and the costs.

Possibly looking at purchasing a bike for my brother in llinois and shipping to Nevada.

Thanks in advance.

I've used Keyboard carriage in the past with excellent results. Rates we're on par with other companies, but their special bike dollies set them apart as no crating or uncrating to mess with. Great people to do business with who cut their teeth moving pianos so they know how to take care of delicate cargo.

Another recommendation for Keyboard. The only time I shipped a bike I used them and was quite satisfied with the experience.

Used JC Motors once for a cross country move. Competitive cost, good communication, was able to track the bike to my door step and arrange delivery on my time-line. There was minor damage to the bike, though the claim was paid promptly with no questions.

Another thumb up for JC Motors (motorcycle shippers.com). I rode across to California in May then shipped the bike back to Virginia. I paid extra for a specific pickup date but they were on time. Bike was delivered ahead of schedule in 11 days without a scratch. You can track the shipment on line, too.
