Nice find Kneedragger. As far as feel, the PR4s will feel as good or better than any tire out there. They will also stick. Issue with them is longevity and funny wear sometimes. Be sure to run good air pressure. Many run about 43psi rear and 43psi front. Transforms the bike.
Good plan to ride it for a while. My first ride was 600 miles to get home. I was sore. I quickly adjusted to it and have never needed to move the bars. YMMV! Lol
That's funny. The previous owner said he heard of a lot of people running 42/43 psi, but always ran with what the manual said, which I think is around 36. That should explain a bit of the flat wear, so I'll definitely bump it up, especially for normal riding. I may be inclined to lower further towards 36 for really aggressive stuff, which is far and few in between.

As usual, I'm late to the party. Looks like I missed the cake too. Oh well.

I'll let you in on a little secret I know that you might have already found out yourself.

I freaking hate the silver color. I hate silver cars, I hate silver trucks and I really hate silver bikes. Here's a pic of my FJR.

Yea, it's freaking silver. But Yamaha didn't give us much choice in the matter over the years. Why did I get silver? Well, at the time it was a really good deal and I couldn't find any good deals in the color of my choice.

What's the secret? Here ya go.

Who freaking cares what color it is when you are riding it? The motorcycle is amazing and your 2013 is even more amazing than mine (except you still are forced to work a silly clutch lever). Enjoy the bike, ride the piss out of it, get the seat modified, and enjoy miles of smiles.

Side note: I love my MV Motorrad handlebar risers, being 5'7" I was leaning further forward than I'd like, which will seem comfy compared to your Daytona, but will take it's toll on longer trips. That fixed it for me.

Second side note: Pics of the Daytona please? I so want one of those to put next to my FJR.

It's for sale

I included one dirty one for the red heads. I'm going to really miss this bike, the best sportbike I've ever ridden, much less owned. And sorry about the Copy infringement, you can call Dave at US129photo, he's my buddy, I usually get my pics at discount, but this was my most recent trip and haven't put my order in yet.

Edit: Man this picture uploading had me jumping all over the place. Got it sorted...

Wow, she's a beauty for sure. Hm, I'm going to be in NC in June...wish I could work something out.

Yea it may not still be around then, but I do have it priced a tad high to ward off unfamiliar craigslist squids, and I'm in no rush. Ping me if you remember, maybe you'll get lucky :)

Warning - thread jack.

I want to ride a Ducati Monster with an aftermarket exhaust on a sunny and dry morning in Deal's Gap. Not all day - just an hour or so.

Congratulations, you now own the fastest and more importantly the stealthiest FJR. That subtle gray has saved me a lot of money, the Poolice seldom even look up from the donut box when I cruise by. Almost invisible! Now, ride the piss out of it, head west in June for our Red Lodge Rendezvous, a gathering of sixty some, at last count, of the finest FJR riders in the world. Enjoy the Northern Rockies, Beartooth Pass, the Chief Joseph Highway, the Bighorns and Bighorn Canyon.....there are some room shares still available.
Bear Tooth Pass in June? I was up there last July a week before the Sturgis fiasco and we could not do the Bear Tooth due to snow closure. Chief Joseph was open but pretty cold in the early morning. I have been over Bear Tooth several times in the past in late August, no problem. Red Lodge is a neat town as well.

I did Beartooth in June of 2013 on an FJR. It was great and there was lot of snow everywhere but not on the road.

Yeah - just a Monster The little one. Super torque, lightweight, and the sound is intoxicating.

I followed one for a while one of the times I was up there. At least he was nice enough to hold back for a few minutes so I could attempt to pace him. The turn in for that bike is amazing. And again.... the sound - holy cow!

After about 25 curves, he dismissed me like a old newspaper.

Son has a Monster. He is of very short stature, it's one of the lowest proper bikes. He's had the saddle padding scooped out and the front lowered on the forks a bit so he can get his (thick-soled) toes down.

He loves it.

hppants, is your inbox full? I tried to PM you yesterday about your wish. It's very easy to accomplish.

Welp...The Triumph sold today, sorry jasen. Absolutely going to miss that bike. BUT the FJR rejuvenates me on the easiest of rides. Now normal roads are fun again!! Did a Wally-World and grocery store run yesterday and was able to fit a variety of crap in the side bags, and still blast through the twisties on the way home. Love it!!
