Fall colors 2016 RTE is in now the books!
Brief RR....
Saturday's Prelude
Meeting up with Mike (Wine Guy) and Charlie (Huey Lewis) in downtown E'ville. For our lodging, it was kinda weird tho; Debbie and I stayed at the above mentioned Wingate, while these guys opted for the Edelweiss lodge which was about 3 blocks away (easy walking distance).
We went to a Tops grocery store xcross the street, stocked up on liquid refreshments, I bought some Ellicottevill Brewing Blueberry Wheat to accompany my stash back at the hotel. So, we all went to my suite at the Wingate, and had one helluva happy hour! ...I think I had maybe 6 or 7, before Mike and Charlie showed up... I already had 4 down, so it was flowing! and, I wasn't alone, the whole town was drink happy!
Popping may just be an understatement!
EBC...
EBC Food Porn
I can't remember (exactly) what kind of chicken I ordered? (and even why I ordered it?)... was pretty f'd up by this point in time. I can't critique it tbh. The beers were (still) flowing quite heavily..... as they should of been! (no driving, all walking and the town was young to middle aged vibrant, aka; social electric!)
Debbie's humongous salad entry
11:00pm; night cap toddy at the Edelweiss lodge. Some interesting conversations with other guests around the fire, had a blast here and thinking next year we all stay at this place!? Debbie and I left for our hotel as the Jacuzzi closes at midnight and she was geeking for some bubblies.
Sunday's RTE
We (north ride-in-ers) met at the Wingate @9am KSU, lil Jon was the first to mosey into the parking lot at 8:05
"It's hip to be square!" Charlie, aka Huey Lewis...
Working our way down to the PA555, we get detoured! damn! but the detour was not too bad actually, fun road, great scenery.
Mike and Debbie, Charlie's off taking care of some business
and Lil Jon is taking dumper cam images of it all! (he can post maybe, well it may not be purrrdy!) lmao
Just beautiful images were abound at every corner, nook or cranny. PA defiantly has some great MC roads, you just need to know where to find 'em!
Arriving at DBBP, we were given a LED beeper device and told it would be about an hour for 12 people. We then cut it down to 10 and said we would take 2 tables in close proximity of each other... this got us in much quicker! So a brief social parking lot visit, minus the normal booze....
Mike, John, Dean
Debbie as usual, can't wait to strip off the ATGATT
Charlie (Huey Lewis), Debbie (Shooz), KJ (TopSpeed) | Jon (Lil Jon), John (Full House), Mike (Wine Guy) and Dean (Deang) ...sport'n the retro Steelers attire lol
Andi, Mona, Chuck (BkrChuck)
I had the Beef brisket with onions and peppers. Whopp'n Wholly, it was huge! (no challenge tho, just leisure ol' food porn)
Debbie had a turkey club wrap w peppered fires. She ate (almost) the whole dang thang too!
Showing off my last years accomplishment (while sporting my free Tee!)....
and I know... the "other" Miller did it in 25 minutes; showoff!
SO.... Another successful and fun outing, great weather and great peeps! We didn't have any challengers this year, that kinda makes it, but oh well... (I guess our group is a lot smarter than we all look!). Speaking of weather (i know a few opted out thinking it would be bad)... The weather held up with sunshine and warm temps throughout the weekend. Debbie and I did hit a brief shower 1.5 miles from the house, it was short and sweet as we pulled into the house as it shut off. Bike was still clean, it was one of those clean dumps I guess.
Special thanks to those who showed up. We had a great group, all fun-spirited and surely know how to live life. I have been asked on this RTE if I will do it again next year? My answer is Yes!, but if we don't get any challengers? I may change it up to another "Food Network" Foodie joint. (like featured on one of Food Network's several shows). I like to have novelty built-in with the RTE... and I'm open to suggestions!
Cheers M8's!
