Lets see, I have had the bike for a little over one week. So far this is what I have added:

Reflective silver side and tank stripes. They look awesome, high quality!

Grip puppies

Risers. Huge difference now in my shoulders!

Ram mount for my GPS

Sliders

Tank Bag

That's it for now. I may do a windshield but not sure.

My vote is if you didn't feel the need for anything (yet), hold off on farkles. Keep riding and see what bothers you.

Sliders would be the exception! Definitely get these.

Since your bike is so new, perhaps think a little about the basic maintenance items right now. You know, lubing the driveshaft, suspension linkage, TB sync, making sure bolts are tight, lubing throttle cables, shifter linkage, stock up on oil/air filters and buy a dozen or more engine drain plug gaskets (same one is used on the rear diff). Also protective items like a fenda extenda or tank protector. I think the new bikes have radiator guards already, right?

If your riding gear is lacking, spend $ on that.

Another thing is some basic safety equipment that you don't notice until you need them. Magnum blaster horns, add'l rear lighting (especially brake lighting, such as hyperlights). Perhaps some HH-type brake pads. Maybe a helmet lock (protect from theft)?

Since you're in Utah, and I've never been, but I imagine a throttle rocker and throttle lock would be real high up there in the needs list with the vast distances out there. Heck, I need one just buzzing around Ohio.

I don't have ANY farkles. I rode 3500 miles in 9 days last year and no-sir-ee I didn't need any...except maybe the sliders...OK, I have sliders, but that it...just sliders and the wild bill highway peg mounts with Kury offsets and pegs but nothing else...well, I do have an autocom hooked up to a Cobra handheld CB so I can communicate with the people I ride with...oh, my Blue Sea fuse box with ignition relay to power the autocom and the CB...but that's it, just the sliders, highway pegs, autocom and CB...oh, and the iPod so I can listen to music, I mean you wouldn't want me to ride all the way to the Grand Canyon from North Texas without my tunes would you?...and of course the vista cruise throttle lock, I mean that goes without saying, right?...oh and my BMW sport grips because I didn't like the stock grips...but nothing else, I mean really it's like I don't have any farkles at all, just the sliders, highway pegs, autocom, CB, iPod, throttle lock, and grips...and the rack from Gaurald with the backrest...but I can promise you I have no intention of installing any more!!!...well, except for the Motofizz bag and the GPS and the bar risers and the custom seat...

Hi, I'm John and I'm a farkle-a-holic.

So after riding to work and back a few times I think that my second farkle (1st were sliders) will be some type of handlebar risers. I have a read a ton of posts about these and the types available. The heli clamp seem to be top of the line but is it worth the price when I may be better off with just a riser for less than $100.

I am 6'2 with a 34" inseam, if anyone has advice as to what I should go with please offer.....the area between my shoulder blades feel like they are on fire after awhile!

I had trouble with that until I adjusted my bars all the way back, and it fixed it for me.
