The members of the Motorcyclist Advisory Council to the Federal Highway Administration recently created the 2008 Motorcyclist Road Conditions Survey.

The purpose of the survey is to help state and federal highway administrators better understand and plan for the needs of motorcycle riders.

All riders are encouraged to take the 10-minute survey before August 1, 2008, by going online to:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=33Z5...yxhqdWo%3d&

It took me all of about five minutes to do this. It has three sections, one each pertaining to urban, rural, and limited access roads. I also gave 'em my personal thoughts about placing cattle guards in curves!

Anyway, I don't know if it will help, but it couldn't hurt.

Missouri has installed steel cable cross-over guards in the medians at selected portions of I-70. If a motorcyclist ran into the median & went down along one it would probably slice the motorcyclist into halves like a cheese slicer or a knife going through hot butter.

the mis-application and over use of tar snakes (plasticized crack sealant) has been a national problem for more than a decade.

RonBB we had some here in the forward thinking backward state of California.

What you said happend to several motorist they finally got the bright idea the cables were the problem. But we had to do a study first. Our cables were hidden by oleander bushes you never knew they were there.

you have to be an engineer and a forward thinking one for safety to come uo with a bright idea like that
