Feeger, Thanks for sharing.

Looks and sounds like a wonderful trip. Fantastic photo log of the journey.

Be safe!

Feeger: Awesome ride!! Thanks for sharing it with us.

I noticed you have an Adaptiv TPX radar detector, any chance you could post pics of your cockpit to see how it's mount? Please?

Good stuff! Thanks for sharing!

See ya at EOM...

Oh - by the way - be careful wearing that BMW gear. They have a habit of blowing out their rear-ends.

Just sayin...

:lol2:

Thanks for the encouraging posts everyone! I've spent the past few days in Toronto, Syracuse, NY and am now in Wilkes-Barre PA. I have a lot of family here, so I won't be posting till next week when I plan on going meeting up with Phil in D.C. and from there EOM!

Hey mingo,

I got the TPX because it's waterproof (found it on Craigslist). I don't think it gives me as much of a warning as my Escort 8500.

Here are pics of the mount:

I thought this clip was a great idea, but found that it occasionally pops off when I'm riding:

I used the Skyway mount for the Escort and tapped a few holes for the TPX mount plate:

Hi, Al. I've really enjoyed following your trip. Thanks for the report. I plan to follow your route roughly when I go visit my boy in Minneapolis.

Look forward to riding with you again soon.

Best,

Hans

That's great Hans!

The roads in Idaho from Boise City to Idaho Falls (until you hit hwy 20) had countless 20 mph turns on a deserted road.

The Super8 in Cooke City (just above Yellowstone) was decent and the Chief Joseph Highway and ride through Wyoming is one of my favorites. If you stop in Cottonwood, SD say hi to Matthew for me!

Sorry I haven't posted any ride reports recently. I spent most of the past two weeks visiting family and friends. After Toronto, I spent a day in Syracuse,

NY before heading to my hometown in PA. Here are some pics from Washington D.C.

More pics here

It's been raining for the past few days, so the camera has been tucked away in my top case.

We did have a brief dry spell on the way to the Dragon. Here's DailyCommuter in top form:

I didn't catch this guy's name, but he was getting friendly with one of the local girls:

No wonder he got this "award"

I'm not sure what he said to make her do this?

The long day of riding took it's toll on some(or was it the drinking?)

It's a good thing this came out blurry. The bathroom was too far away for jwilly:

Dangit Al! You're making me wish I'da tagged along!

Nice pics there :drinks:

Great meeting ya Al, got your Email addy tucked away and I'll send you a copy of you and Craig running the freekin' dragon in the rain (and feet down :D )

Ride safe on the trip home!

Hey Al, let me know where ya are around Friday. If your still in my area maybe we can do some Arkansas roads.

John

Lots of fun, then meeting and making new friends....priceless meories, my friend.

Good for you, Al. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.

Yes....we are envious. You wanna make something of it!?!?!?!? :p

Silent - next time we'll ride together instead of working on my bike ;)

Bungie - It was fun hanging with you and Rob, I guess some Canadians are okay peeps :p

MM2 - As much fun as I'm having on this trip, I'm still looking forward to riding with you up north the weekend after I get back!

Reaper - I really enjoyed meeting you and thanks for hooking me up with the gps routes! I'm already in Oklahoma City visiting an old friend, so you'll have to make that trip to Cali so we can ride together. I got the chance to ride this gem this morning (ends at pigs tail):

I can't wait to try out this route:

Here are some pics from the Graceland tour. I slabbed it ALL the way across TN because I wanted to get out of the friggin rain. Now I know why people hate hwy 40! I spent last night in Heber Springs, Arkansas and rode some fun roads before making my way to Oklahoma City. I'll be here for another day or so before deciding where to go next.

Al - great meetin' ya at EOM! (The missus and I bumped into ya at the laundromat). Lovin' the trip, and hope you're feeling better!

Ride safe,

BG

Great report. If you are heading into Colorado, it has started to snow and the higher passes in the northern part are coverd in gravel now so watch it.

Jeez. I didn't know you were takin pics while we were riding. Thanks for not snapping any of my bike on it's side at the dragon. Glad your still out there tearing it up. Have a great, safe trip Al. Looking forward to next time. Good luck on your adventure...
