Any suggestions on what to use for this? The manual makes no reference to type or viscosity...

Oy Vay!

Apparently you didn't learn your lesson yesterday!

Go with the Yammie special whale **** made especially for the FJR which you can get fairly cheaply from University Motors, or Mobil1 75W-90 synthetic gear oil available from any auto parts store.

You can tell me.............did you even make an attempt to search? ;)

Actually I did search. Tried gear oil and final gear oil. Had crappy results because the the 3 letter problem.

I just did too. Quotes are the key. ****.
Actually, I misled above. I didn't use quotes in the search. I was just using them to show what terms I put in the search field. In this case you don't need the quotation marks.

Ah... I searched on gear oil and final gear oil. If without quotes it spits it back saying it's under three letters. Gotta pick those four letter words!

Actually, the quote marks are a way around the 3-letter search limitation, if used with a second (3+) word also.

For example.... searching for:

oil filter

leads one to an error page, because the word oil is only three letters.

However, searching on

"oil filter" (with the quote marks)

leads one to six pages of hits (assuming your "Search posts from..." setting is "Any Date and" older... not "newer")

Hey mang - no offense, but I never read anything you post. In fact, I am going to have to add you to my "ignore users" list.
Then you're just gonna love it then when you finally get back to your bike in Nevada. Riding it back from the playa I opened up the tank and dropped a dookie I had been brewing up since Bruno had fed us all that ravioli.

I don't know what was more impressive. Me scrunched on top of your tank poised for the turd drop, or wiping final drive oil around the tank opening to get the poop to slide through the opening.

Ignore that.
