I just thought I would share our first video. It was a really great ride on Sunday and our next ride we are going to mount 2 cameras for different angles. I would love to get osme feedback on music, content, length so we can make the next one better. Thanks. :clapping:

That looks perfect. I cant wait for the snow to melt up here. Thanks for the clip. :yahoo:

Very nice, are you going on the Friday ride I posted? Maybe your buddy could aim the camera higher when mounted on his bike. Note, compare the first part to the second part. I like the framing much better on the second part. Thanks for sharing.

Nice video, great audio clip. I'd include more audio of engine accelerations and maybe dim the video some to highlight colors better.

I am impressed. This gives me all sorts of evil/crazy ideas...

Funny how watching someone else do what I do routinely can scare me and make my heart speed up. The non-FJR is a V-Rod, no? Was sure grinding the hardware.

I have been working a lot so I have not seen the Friday ride posted yet. If it is after 2pm I can make it if not I will try next time. Thanks Barry.

Excellent Vid..I have my eye on one of those M109R's How's the pulling power compared to the FJR? and the music was that Joe satriani or Steve Vai or someone else?

Great work

The M109R is swimming in torque and to be honest he is a better rider than I am. I was much more conservative since I did not know the roads as well. It was really hard to tell who would have pulled away in a straight line if we both jumped on it. Something tells me I would have a slight advantage off the line but after that it would be close or a draw. I know the FRJ would also take it on the high end since the Suzuki tops out around 130-135mph. An 1800cc bike for $12999 is pretty impressive and let's just say I walked away very impressed with the way it was able to handle the twisties and Kurt's ability to ride. I should not have had the side and top cases on and I hate the tires I have that came with the bike. I would have like a tire that wanted to turn more but the grip felt preety good. I did not scrap the pegs at all so I am sure the bike could have been pushed much harder than I was pushing it. I only have 1200 miles on her now and my goal is to keep her dent free and me injury free. ;)

My buddy did all the work in the video and here is the music he used. Joe Satriani (mostly solo stuff)

John Petrucci (from the prog-rock band Dream Theater) Steve Vai (mostly solo stuff, used to be in Whitesnake) Joe Satriani

Hey fellaz.

I am the dude who shot the video. Me and Trent had a nice ride.

First video. Came out pretty good I guess. The camera mount (www.techmounts.com) is pretty neat. The camcorder was screwed into the mount plate, but wobbled a bit, so that explains at least some of the vibration. I am sure part of it is due to the vibration inherent in a large V-twin engine at low RPMs.

As far as the camera aiming goes, the mount plate was not as tightly screwed in, so that will be fixed on the next video.

Thanks for the compliments!

The 109 handles pretty well for it's size.

Hope to go riding again soon!

2006FJR and Macpilot,

Great to have some vid makers on the board. Since the ride this Friday takes off early, maybe I will ride with you guys on another Ortega run or something. BTW, I order the Helimot boots! Ended up with the TransOpen Tours. Not on the website but seem really interesting.

Barry

Geez Barry, you really bought a hard core boot. Here is a link to their new beta site for now, and most people use this link for their old site. I just bought the Travelstar GTX now and Emily has the Ladystar GTX (same as M-Star). You could keep these boots for a lifetime and the construction is amazing.

Barry: You are invited on the next ride and I hope to find a camera and mount by then. I am thinking about a head mounted camera in stead of one on the bike. It would give a different perspective during the ride.

Kurt: I am really glad you signed up to be on the site. I am new here too but it is a good group of people.

Not bad for a start... Lots of peg scraps on that cruiser.....

First thing i can say if you want to keep making movies is Buy some Bullet cams... They make a better movie and 100 time more stable video. I tryed many ways to tightly secure my ZR300 cam on a tech mount stem mount and it is just to bumpy

for me... Keep im mine you will always get bumps......

Here is a quick view of what i got going

couple of tips in making a good flick is keep music going, It is nice to blend in bike and road sounds in the flick... You might just end flick with song or blend in another song... When i video rides i make like 10 sec clips or picture and edit diffrent angels, direction, change clips or pictures on the beat of the tune...

It will just get better and better and easyer the more you make.

Software for movie make is another issue.... in making a good movie...

I recommend Sony Vegas 7.0, But there are other software brands out there.

Good luck and keep them comming :yahoo:

Dude, you have a serious camera system! Nice install.

I use iMovie 6 which comes with every Macintosh. Awesome software.

Do you have the bullet-cam inputting to a camcorder, or does it use some other recording device?

I think Jdog once posted an explaination of all his bullet cams. The bullet cams feed the camcorder. On the FJR, Jdog may have pioneered the perfect place for a bullet cam- tucked in under the nose just under the headlight. Anyways that is my favorite angle in watching his videos. Helmet cams don't do it for me.

As to the boots, I did not get the one on the web site. It does not have the endro steel toe or the sole. Instead it is custom made for Helimot. I do not know why they do not have it on their site? Basically it is the Trans Open upper without a steel toe and with a Roadstar sole. It has gore tex and I hope I like it for $359. Ouch, Ouch.

Thank you Mac Pilot

Im going to make a new video here in the next couple of days showning about my video systems..... I have 2 videos of my bike system out but they where just a test video...

I have 4 bullet cam's mounted on my bike....then all feed into a switch box i made up. Then from there it goes into my Video recording device...(Canon ZR300). Using bullet cams your camera basic is nothing more then a VCR.. You have to have a video camera the has AV inputs. You will also have to set up your Video camera to run as a VCR, Refer to your owners manual.

I have a PC not a mac so im not familar with the mac software movie 6 but im sure it is good....
