There was a break in the weather today and I took advantage of the dry skies and mild temps by going for a short ride.
Here is my route.
I gathering my gear inserting the inner liner into the jacket. A couple of weeks ago I had jacket in for repair. I put the pants on and was reminded my waist line had expended, as if I needed another reminder. I need to get out more on my mountain bike as I did the day before.
With all the gear on I head to the garage checking my jacket pockets for the garage door opener. No opener. I remember I emptied the jacket pockets before taking it in for repairs. Where did I put the garage door opener. Back int the house I found it in the place I first expected relishing a small victory for my memory.
I straddle the bike, roll out out of the garage and fire up the bike. I go to the end of the block and find the pants don't have the inner liner. At 46 degress I return home, back in the garage, into the house where I remove the jacket, the boots and pants. After finding the liner, I zip it in, pull on the pants, which remind me again of my larger waist, put on the boots, jacket, helmet and gloves.
I straddle the bike, roll out out of the garage and fire up the bike. I go to the end of the second block and handling seemed sluggish. This reminded me I forgot to check the air pressure in my tires.
Back to the garage, check the front tire, it is ok. Check the back tire it is down 7 psi. Get the pump add air and remember to install the valve stem cap.
I straddle the bike, roll out out of the garage and fire up the bike for the third time and I have not even made it out of the housing development.
This time I got everything right and headed down the road. I decided to go to Hobart to to take this photo. I have been riding these roads for 40 years and as long as I can remember the Yellow Submarine has always been here. It has been painted a few times and today while freshly painted is in missing letters "The Beatles" with the appropriate font made popular by the band.
On to Landsberg where I took these photos of the Cedar River.
In Cumberland I decided to ride to the Green River Gorge for a few photos.
On the way to the Green River Gorge.
Blind turn.
One lane bridge at Green River Gorge
After the Gorge I decided to head back home and call it a day. Sweeney Road offers some twisties and it is on the way home so I take it. As I exit a turn, unlike Redfish Hunter, I don't hesitate to stop when I see a flock of sheep. I take the shot and a wry grin creases my lips when I consider the lady in the photo would just die If she knew why I was photographing her sheep.
For Bust!
