Well I am back in the saddle after six months of recovery. That Mena trip was pretty mean to me in October.I know Bounce and a few other SFO's can attest to how evil Arkansas roads are at any speed.Wife is a funny person.Gets super pissed now when I fire it up but she realizes me not riding is like telling my father he cant play golf. The word "no" doesnt go here.I saddled up and took on one of my favorite routes.Garland to Carthage then on to Shreveport for a visit with Don over at Shreveport Motorsports then lunch at Sams Town. The whole trip is about 450 miles.I also took a run to Idabel Ok lunch stop at Beavers Bend then across 70 to Durant with a dinner stop in Sherman.I promised to stay out of Arkansas. Now looking forward to a return to Ontario Canada by summers end.I still have some reservations about riding and with good reason. The injuries to my spine now cause me to be in constant chronic pain and the other breaks really have aggravated the arthritic joints.Aging SUCKS!I think any riding with NESBA or track days would make my wife very very happy....NOT!!

Thats great. Pretty funny, ask some of the SFO'ers about how evil I know those roads can be. My most recent wreck  left me with a broken leg and off the bike for a few months. When I finally got up and around, my first ride was picking up my new '05, Tucson to Wichita in a day and a half. I was pretty sore but very happy when I got home. Its been very important to me in my wrecking career that I always get back on again.

..............and we are very proud of you, jocko......very proud. At least, the few of us that just meet you at the destination. "Hey, dude....I'll just meet ya there"...........

Quality relationships are never built upon ultimatums, ...and any 'back in the saddle' story is a good story! Glad to hear it!! Keep on keepin' on!!

I really get something reading posts like this.

It's an unpleasant and sort of lonely feeling after an accident, wondering if motorcycling is over for you. When you're back "on" then, it's almost a relief - or it was for this rider.

Bravo RatoneMuerto!

I've considered starting a thread on pain-killers. You have a problem if.........

All the best.

Good for you. Took me 6 months to get back on after I totalled my VSTAR1100 and broke my collar bone and tweekedmy neck in a few places. I can relate. But it is heartwarming to read you're back. My wife told me to go buy another motorcycle 'cuz I was a bear to be around without one -- so I bought the feej. As Old Mike said pain killers, time, some good physical therapy and confidence building work wonders.

And the wife will get less nervous when you ride too. At least mine did. She sounds like a keeper. :clapping:
