ST's look like Burgmans from the rear
scoooooter!
I have heard others say that the ST looks like a scooter with the bags off. I've never seen one but many have commented that my FJR looks much better without the bags and I would have to agree. But, it still looks like a wonderful Sport Tourer with them on.

FJR's and ST's are always held up for comparison in mags and elsewhere, so we're conditioned to see each other as the competition. I think the reason the ST is heavily bashed on this site is that in general the type of person that prefers the FJR for it's sportiness and style sees the ST as a fat fugly scooterish thing and we can't understand why anyone would want to ride it... therefore there must be something wrong with them. Those of you who bought the FJR as primarily a tourer and the other aspects are only secondary (or even rarely used) are more likely to see the ST as acceptable or even (gag!) equal.

Come on guys, this subject is so out of fashion. And we can bash other bikes and their riders all day and say we could do that or this but when it comes down to it really wouldn't you want a Jay Leno sized garage with every style and make of bike that makes your little heart go pitter patter? I would! But instead I've only been blessed with the two I have now and my old pickup I drive to work so I'll just have to rough it and I'm not dissapointed to say the least. PM. <><

But you can't deny that Virgin Limo service dumped all the ST's for the FJR. And there are quite a few countries using the FJR as their police bikes. So there!
