Installed mine in just a few seconds. To clean off the little stickers I used brake cleaner. Rubbing alcohol would work too.

Hmmm? I see these pics of the LHS bracket in front of the filter ... after using the strap wrench, did you have to wiggle the filter out at an angle?

no. comes on/off without a problem.

My thought exactly!Will they fit the '06?

They do but they are as little harder to mount than on my 05. The RHS plate lower hex nut does interfere with the fairing eve so slightly on the 06.
