I see you took the scenic route from 199 to 96 - I've heard its great fun but never traveled it myself. Was it worth the extra miles?

That trip from 199 to 96 is one very sweet piece of road with next to no traffic and one bear. Well worth the extra time even considering how hot it was.

Lots of wind in Ellensburg and an unusual amount of trucks. Canyon was a nice break from the slab!

Stanley Clan will soon be departing The El Capitan Lodge-Casino in magnificent Hawthorne, NV. If you could imagine our RadioHowie running a Casino and a Motel then this is what "The El Cap" is, minus Cuban hookers and manatees in the pool. But $60 a night and a $6 breakfast and you can't go wrong, plus you don't have to look at RH! JSNS!

Postscript to dcarver: Donny Boy - the air conditioning is working fantastic in our Jeep Liberty Diesel SUV, in fact between Henderson and Beatty we had to crack the windows open because we were freezing in the Jeep! jes' sayin' and nuff said, Pumpkin!
