I have been reluctant to try to pop a wheelie with the FJR. Now I have done it without actually trying. However, I was wondering, how many of us actually yank the front end off the ground regularly. The guys I ride with says it should be easy. My contention is that with the shaft drive, you don't get the same "lift". Please give me your thoughts...

I wouldn't try and be a stunta, but I've lifted enough through second gear to make my butt pucker.

1st and 2nd gear, not a problem without the clutch. Just hammer it at about 4-6k. Probably not a good idea on this big a bike for MULTIPLE reasons, but so damn hard to resist.........anybody got an extra set of fork seals layin' round?!?

I haven't really done a wheelie or maybe I have. They kinda happen if your too quick with the wrist in 1st or 2nd. Particularly when you first get the bike.

Have fun

like this you mean? :p

For the record its not me, I don't even know whose picture it was originally to give credit to.

I think CanadaianFJR can show us a thing or two about lifting the front wheel. I'm pretty sure it was him that went by me at about 40mph in a controlled rear-wheel accelleration. But I wont swear it was him.

And a Hardy HI O Silver away...

Don't want to even think about it. Tires are suppose to be on the ground not in the air.

But it's fun to leave those cruisers sitting at the light.

I don't pull the front end up that far, but I've been know to carry the front wheel just off the pavement for a second or so. A couple times it was on purpose!!! But I'd hate to think about the landing from that altitude seen above. BANG!!!

i have pulled up the front end of mine twice in the last couple of weeks

who says an AE won't wheelie??? :D

Very seldom has my front tire come off the ground, and I have to really be trying to get it to do that (I was gonna say "...trying to get it up" but thought better of it.) The times it has come up, it feels like it's only been an inch or two. Crap!!!!!!!!! Maybe something's wrong with my bike...Maybe I used the wrong gas. Or the wrong oil. ****, maybe I did the wrong break in and ruined the motor, or maybe I have way too much blow-by in the valves/rings and need a rebuild. Maaaaaaaaaaaybe it's a ticker that just don't tick yet. Either that or maybe my heavy *** just sits a little forward. I never have been much of a wheelie guy, although I guess a good one every now and then could be cool.

I'm pretty sure I watched him do one of those leaving the Rusty Anchor ;)

My Cojones aren't that big!!

No Thanks. Two tires on the asphalt for me!

"Having this beautiful bike in good shape and for a long time is the master plan".

I think I read that in the Bible!
