Hey Mark, you online??
PT Cruiser, Mmmm. better than walkin'.
Were your leathers totalled too?
Are you going to change your signature: "Pavement Diving. Not for sissies!"I may be able to keep using the leathers with some repair work.
Well I heard from the insurance company....the Fjr is a write off. <_<
I've been offer $7000.00 less than it's insured value. :angry2:
Now I need to roll up my sleeves and go to battle.

From your insurance company? Or the guy that rear ended you? I would call your agent, explain to him in a calm, but extrememly frim voice that this is unacceptable and ask him to handle it.
What company is this by the way?
Offer is from the government run insurance company.
I'll spend the weekend looking for what receipts, I have.
I was in on lots of group buys and bought farkles at WFO meetings.
Also purchased from Bike Johnny, FJR Goodies, Cal Sport and others.
Paypal was used as a method of payment many times.
I'm dealing with a private insurance company for coverage.
Our basic insurance is only available through a Government run insurance company. (they'll be the ones paying my insurance company)
I was rear ended, so...there is no question about who's at fault.
I will have to prove the insured value.
I'm hoping that pictures will help out....alot.
Mark
+1You do NOT have to accept an offer of any kind. it is math to them. THREATENING to get an attorney involved is generally enough to make them calculate the cost of fighting with you against giving you what they want. The cost of fighting is more than you want on top of the offer.
Problem up here is that ICBC, the Insurance Corp of BC, affectionately known as IckyBicky, loves to **** claimants around. Maybe they think that they're doing right by the public to lowball and draw out settlements until the claimant gets fed up and accepts whatever just to get it over with, or maybe there's an overabundance of SOB adjusters. And don't you worry, Mark's not the only one they'll be trying to screw; they'll try to stick it to the rear-ender and raise rates for all motorcyclists in BC.+1You do NOT have to accept an offer of any kind. it is math to them. DH had a similar experience - except that he was on the BMW and encountered a careless driver. His K12 was just two months (aka two payments plus a $3K deposit) old. Granted it was high mileage, at 6K, but the initial offer from the insurance would have left us owing about $2K on the loan. Our attorney explained that the offer was not high enough and they came back with a check for about $1K, plus paying off the bike. When the case finally settles, we will also get our deductible back.
Full marks to State Farm, who reimbursed for leathers, helmet, gloves, boots and clothing, without deducting ANY depreciation.
