See if the solo MT rider heads S on Rte112 to Devil's Tower soon, and then they have to really haul ***!
JEF

p.s the bonus requirement is to "take a photo of Devil's Tower with your Motorcycle." You DO NOT have to go all the way into the park to get that photo.
I knew that guy or gal wasn't done yet, Now I hope his camera can take night photos. Be a dam shame it if didn't come out. I am sitting in my arm chair with my Gray lady (No, not my wife!) Cisco brewers of Nantucket. A fine belgian brew witch emits a complex nose with a sophisticated notes. Least ways that what it says on the bottle.

Cheers,

He's well south now, and it's still light there. https://www.devilstowertradingpost.com/webcam.php
I keep forgetting the time differential. Dark and cloudy here been that way for a couple of hours now. So the question is will he keep sucking up bonuses or hightail it. He is at the crossroad at this time.

Dave

I don't think he has a choice - it'll be full 'burner to ABQ now. He's on what appears to me to be a risky road right now - going to do through Thunder Basin National Grassland, at twilight and though into early evening. If it's cool, the deer will be active, I imagine.

It sure is a serious night.
I am filled with memories of riding all night and pulling into Ontario in 2011.

We took is slow and easy and took breaks as needed and were safe. That is really all that matters.
I sure remember that night I was traveling through the desert with both tires loosing air from rims that were bent by pothole. Ill never forget that ride.

Any insight from any of the riders with an FLIR system? Would really like to hear how well these work.

OK my wife just walked into my home office looked at my monitors with the FJR forum, ADV forum, spotwalla, weather channel, Mapquest with a route from WY to ABQ, and austinmedia.net with the bonus points and rubber band map and called me a rally geek!!! I feel complete!
My boss caught me doing something similar today... 3 computers with spot, google maps and weather. I told him to stop bothering me and I talk to him on Monday! He walked away mumbling something about getting a life. I wasn't sure if he was talking about me or himself???

Well said. An all-nighter on day 11 is serious business.
I'm suddenly having a flashback to 2007 when we rode together on that final night. I think you looked something like this that final night......when it felt like the finish line was just down the road even though it was still 400 miles away?

I also remember that we were coming down from that massive summit in Kansas with 6% grade for 100 miles. And that after I took a nap at a rest area suddenly it was flat again. The last night is weird.

Wow, 10 construction zones in the way for the remaining Wyoming riders...according to Google Maps anyway.

Bummer.

400 is so close. Focus.

I'm glad I added all that SOLAS tape!

I pedaled across Kansas way back when and the locals warned me about that 6% grade!

Why is rider #123 heading south out of Wichita?
His GPS may be telling him that I-35/I-40 is faster than US 54. There won't be much in it. US 54 is a decent road but the speed limit is 65 for the most part, and there are towns you have to slow down for.

The Interstates there run generally 70 to 75 mph

Maybe they're cutting down so they can catch one of those 1 in western OK and/or 2 in northern Texas. I heard there was one closer to the barn from one rider in Eastern OK that said they might try depending on time.

I didn't think that they're all likley daylight bonuses. Not sure then.

That rider out in NE Oklahoma is gonna be late. And my two Bay Area buddies who aren't on public SPOT are right on the edge. Hoping for safe journeys for all!!

He can squeeze in but he can't stop. Best guess is 30 mins of penalty points.

If he runs +8 he saves an hour .. long enough to get gas and get home right on time ... tight. There are no more obstructions on that route, I've ridden it twice recently.
