The IBA will not recognize any ride that requires speeding to accomplish success. Google maps does not give a very accurate estimation (IMO) a GPS will assess it much better. The ride was actually more enjoyable than I had anticipated. It helps riding with a friend who was a former resident of the Keys.
I understand that GPS usually provides a more accurate estimation of time required. No matter how you calculate it, this is more difficult than most SS100 routes due to low maximum speeds and the potential for traffic congestion. Still quite an accomplishment!

1,000 miles at 40 mph = 25 hours 0 minutes = unsuccessful SS1K

1,000 miles at 45 mph = 22 hours 13 minutes

1,000 miles at 50 mph = 20 hours 0 minutes

1,000 miles at 55 mph = 18 hours 11 minutes

1,000 miles at 60 mph = 16 hours 40 minutes

1,000 miles at 65 mph = 15 hours 23 minutes

1,000 miles at 70 mph = 14 hours 17 minutes

Doing 5-to-7 mph over the limit typically won't get you noticed, and can yield significant time savings on a 1,000-mile ride.
