Is there any interest in a Florida Tech Day?

If you're interested chime in and include the farkling or maintenance you want to do on your bike.

I myself am interested in brake issues!

The where and when are wide open. Jim (fljab) was a great host last time.

I really want to do the fork oil on mine. Hopefully we can pull a date together before EOM. :)

I really don't need to do much to my bike. I paid for the YES and let the dealer do the work for now. However I would love to attend.

Rob helped me put on a harness for my GPS. It had a million wires, but not one to hook a battery tender to. I need a pigtail for the battery charger. So nothing major for my bike.

Also I would love to learn suspension if anyone knows much about that. I have not adjusted mine. It seems fine, but I would hate to not be getting everything out of the bike I can.

Orlando/Tampa latitude or north, and NOT on a GT home football weekend, and I'll be interested.

I want to punch a hole in a discarded tire, then plug it, and I'll ride 7 hours to do that. Technical enough?

Due to sept. plans and a need to get bikes ready quickly, an August 29th date was selected. Mims, FL.

For those interested PM me for address .

If this is too short a notice, There will be a RTE in

Florida later in October.

I was wanting to do a fork oil change. I know you need something to hold the front end up, and a front axle tool? Have you, or Jim done this, and have the tools available to do it? I will bring the oil (once I find what type and how much) and can bring some tools if needed.

I'll go first Vic, because we'll be real careful on the first one. On the second one, we'll feel like pros, and slap it together in record time!

Hey all -

I haven't been too active for a while on the forum, but talk/text to 101st regularly.

My garage is a mess, but I'll try and get it somewhat cleaned up for a tech day if some of you want/need to do some work.

I got a big six Ford engine apart, a HD rigid frame bike on one of the stands, and basically just enough room to get around right now.

I did inherit a new (to me) drill press so trying to figure out WTF I'm going to put that!

I'll get it figured out; give me a good head count on who wants to come over.

Oh, and did I mention the new(ish) John Deere lawn tractor that has ended up in the bike side of the garage???

PS, it would be great to see you all, been too long! I don't get out much these days - well except for LD rides and other travelling adventures.

So, stop on by!

I was in Key West last weekend doing a reunion from my days at NAS KW; you know how that goes - a bunch of old guys reliving their 20s, and damn, we did it good! Still lots of adult beverage cans left over in my garage 'fridge...

Hey Jim, long time since I've seen you on here, much longer since our last tech day at your place. I look forward to seeing you and everyone again.

Curious, is this something you think we could do while there?

In your expert opinion. ;)

I have not done a fork oil change, so maybe research it and we can figure it out?

I'll clean things up and hopefully clear up one of my lifts. We can lift up the front of a bike one at a time. Shouldn't be too bad.

If you think a special tool is needed, let me know and will see if I have it.
