Yep, impending hurricanes are deadly for me. People panic here and want to fly their airplanes away to safety so, at the last minute, I'll get called by a butt load of people that need to get their airplanes airworthy that haven't flown in years. I'll have to pass on this one.

Intech, if you know how to do the fork oil change, we'll discuss the possibilities of a ride to Florida at EOM to teach a few eager students how to do it. We can make a weekend out of it. I have the room. There will be beer! :)

fork oil swap is so easy even Beemerdons and Biker geek could pull it off unassisted. Z

I think.

Good to know, Bust. If you didn't live a million miles away, I'd be at all of your tech days and I'd be an expert by now.

Oh! And Philjet09 was kind enough to hook me up with the recipe to make my own stem bearing spanner wrench/socket. That way, I'll have my own. :)

Vic-

Bust's tech days are well worth the ride. I have made 2 of them so far, and I hope to make this Ohio run Tech day also.

I see many use ATF to flush the grunge out, and when all that is drained, use fork oil 24 oz. The book actually recommends using Ohlins R & T43 oil, altho maybe there is a Yamaha branded oil? What do you use?
ATF is MUCH cheaper than fork oil and does a good job of flushing. I use the Yamaha oil. It is almost $10 cheaper buying it from Partzilla rather than the local dealer.

I have the special tools also. That sounds like a plan and you have the two most important ingredients! I could do two SS1K's!

I've been AWOl from the forum for a while. New interest has taken much of my free time. If I were not paid up with the absolute worst summer cold in history, I'd hop down to Jim's place jut to hassle everybody. Been doing lots of riding up and dwom to Titusville every day. Bike is good. Retirement is around the corner in December. Can't wait. I'll try and be more active here.

Let's see how the cold has progressed, and what SWMBO has to say.

My instincts were correct about having to bail on this one. With the forecast, I was inundated with calls to get a bunch of planes airworthy. I'm fried and tomorrow is going to be even worse. Let's hope this isn't a bad one. Going to sleep like a rock and wake up at 0 dark 30 to do it again. EOM can't get here fast enough.

I'm up watching the news and drinking my coffee. The latest is it's lost strength, but still will have a lot of rain and general "wetness". Looks like now they are saying it's going up the west coast to the Panhandle.

Yeah, today will be typical weather pattern. I think Vic would've been heading back Sunday, so between that and his unexpected workload, he won't be making it. See you at EOM Vic!

I'll be leaving in a few minutes, see you soon Jim. :)

Also, no better this morning. I hate summer colds. Gonna have pass this time, but will stay active and can't wait for next get together.
