Touching down in Phoenix from the 9th to the 16th. Interested in getting a bike for at least a couple days while I'm there. Looking for recommendations for bike rentals and "must do" day rides. Meeting up with some other forum members for a ride would be cool.

Thanks Don. PM'd BeemerDon already and we'll hopefully be getting together.

And it'll take al lot more than Phoenix in the winter to melt me. ;-)

I rented a wing from Az ride under the previous owners back in 08. Flew in, taxi to bike shop. Worked out just fine for me. Some really nice riding to the east of Phoenix and New Mexico if no snow in the high country.

+1, Gunny; we AZ Beemers have referred AZride to Folks, AZB has always gotten good feed back on them. https://www.yelp.com/biz/az-ride-motorcycle-rentals-scottsdale

I have also rented from AZRide and would recommend them. The rates are ok, not the best but the bikes are well maintained and generally in better physical condition than the bikes I've rented in CA.

The biggest problem of bike rentals in AZ is lack of time to see and do all there is available

^^^^^https://www.azcentral.com/story/news/local/scottsdale/2015/03/26/scottsdale-greasewood-flat-closes-march/70333424/ Sadly Alan, Greaswood Flats closed their doors on 3/15/15. Too damn bad, it was a fantastic Motorcycling dining destination. Man oh Man, that two tone Azul y Plata FJR is so fecking BEAUTIFUL! JSNS!^^^^
Well dahhamn, it stayed open longer that I had expected, I thought the family was going to close Greasewood several years ago. Coming soon -- more condos.

Thanks Don! We'll try and make that work.

Still working on which bike to get from AZRide as the FJR is booked.

Typical 'mericans! Turning down the heat when we Canucks come down.

RSVP REQUEST: Dear Jo and Desmond, Friends of mine are visiting this weekend from Canada: Jeff and Jill of Calgary, Alberta. Since many of the AZ Beemers attend FJR Forum Events they know Jeff, he is the Rally Master for the Canadian FJR Event that takes place every year up in Canuckistan eh!

Cool! I think that'd be great. Count Jill and I in. Please RSVP for us.
Is there something uniquely Canadian that you'd like us to bring?

Bring your own Booze Jeff, I don't think there are any Poutine aficionados! JSNS, eh!

K... After some delays, we finally made it to AZ.

Given the forecast for the next few days, we are heading to Sedona after picking up the Bike at AZ Ride in Scotsdale. If anyone wants to meet up, email or pm me and I'll check in regularly.

Picked up bike. Riding a brand new CTX just to try something new. Heading to Flagstaff and back today. Thinking Tortilla Flat/Roosvelt tomorrow.
