Okay the scary thing to me about this thread is that I became an FJR owner this year and am seriously considering buying a dual sport as well. Must be something about the confort....

Ride safe out there. Maybe the GF and I will meet you guys out there next yr.

I really want to attend the event but had shoulder surgery just over two weeks ago. I was expecting just a clean up but ended up having a torn rotator cuff plus two other problems which were corrected. I am in Citrus Heights and am willing to take any items to the event. While everyone is out riding for the day I will probably try and stay busy and join the festivities in the evening. Stuck with cabin fever and really bummed about not being able to ride the bike but need to take the necessary time to let the shoulder heal.

Not a problem, Jeff. Come and enjoy the comraderie and hang out with the "gang". Just be careful around Sacramento Mike.

With several people driving up there have been offers to haul/bring stuff up for the real riders. ;)

Post up if you need anything.

Hey, that's a very nice offer, JeffD, and don't believe a word MM2 says about me (and Mike, maybe you can get a pass too  ). I'll be coming, but it'll be my first trip on the KLR with actual cargo. Not sure yet how I'll be strapping tents, sleeping bags, etc. on there, and if you (or any other Sac-area folks) would care to drop a PM, I'd appreciate a chance to bring some stuff over, and pick it up afterward. For that matter, I've got all kinds of gear for car-camping, like campstoves, lanterns, ax, etc., that I wouldn't be bringing on the bike. I'd bring all that too if I had somebody willing to haul it. Thanks.

Hoping to leave Sac about 9 a.m., heading for Jackson. I'll check here in the morning to see if anybody wants to connect.

If you check back some, "Orestes" (Dave Clark) posted a while back; he's here from England on a tour, riding a rented FJR. He's in Tahoe tonight, coming down 88 heading towards Yosemite via Hwy 49 @ Jackson, so he'll be going right by us sometime mid-morning. I gave him directions to find our site, so if any of you can be there early we can meet up. He's having a hell of a tour, Seattle south, all over the U.S. west. See if you can make it early.

Was out to buy a gallon of milk and stopped by to see this gathering ....didn't stay long, but long enough to see that those of us who didn't take advantage of 2008 FODS are D.U.M. (dumb). GREAT folks, GREAT location, PERFECT weather ...yada yada yada.

Those who missed: Let's all not make the same mistake in 2009 by not doing this gig.

Mrs. Bluestreek has always been my favorite.

Not shown: quite a few folks.

Shown, but you cant see him: Uberkul, the leader of this pack. Trust me, he's in these pics, but so dirty from dirt-biking that you can't see him.

Didn't stay long, after all, I was only out to fetch a gallon of milk :)

Felt lucky to see these folks for a bit, but sad that I couldn't make the whole weekend.

a few more pics of my ride can be seen here(clicky)
