ok, I am officially frightened......LOL
And you should be! Some of these guys take "minimalist packing" to extremes. :dribble:

I just take off the heated liner when it warms up and toss that in the pannier. Luggage is good. :yahoo:

The purist dirty boys don't like to carry stuff. Remember not to laugh at them too much when they limp back into camp moaning about how long it took to change a tube with two bent spoons and a hand pump. And wait until they are done with their sob story before you tell them all the beer/liquer is gone. ;)

Have we ridden together?! :D

Confirm Your Room Reservation!

Dear FODS V and Death Valley DAZE 2012 Participants: Please give the Longstreet Inn a call today at 1-775-372-1777 and confirm your room reservations. Marybel quit and I want to make sure that all of our room reservations are now confirmed.

If the person you are speaking to does not know your confirmation, please ask to speak to Charlie B. or Monica. Here is Charlie's email: [email protected] I am not concerned, but the initial bookings were all set up with Ms. Marybel.

I talked with Charlie when I made my reservation. That should be good, yes?

Doug, if you spoke to Charlie you should be good! See you next week, Bro!

I quit my job so I could bring my KLR and ride FODS! :yahoo:

Only if the forecast of rain for NorCal holds true for most of next week otherwise my boss (she IS a great wife) says I can't quit because the sun is shining and I will have to work to support her Quarter horse habit ;)

I booked my room so pray for rain all next week, we need it up here anyway.

Who's bringing the Lipton's

ooooh, I found an even better forecast at www.weather.com. It shows a 40% chance of scattered showers on Saturday. For those who want some nice photos, clouds should add nice contrast. For those who want perfect riding conditions, 80F with showers to keep the dust down should make it epic. Of course, no weather man was ever fired for being wrong. They just smile and say, "oops, sorry" and move on to tomorrow's forecast. So I'll be bringing clothes for any riding condition.

I think I'm going to go pretty photo heavy (what else is new) and puffy white clouds would be made to order. I also want to get a big group shot so slap me upside the head if you don't see that happening sometime before Sat. :headbonk:
