FJR Owners of Dual Sports: FODS VI / Daze of Moab 2013 is already shaping up. "Backroad" Bob Little is joining the FJR Forum. Bob is also actively looking for a good deal on a used 2010-2011 Yamaha FJR. Bob was looking at a BMW K1300S, but I talked him into buying an FJR. If you guys hear of, or see, a sweet bargain on either a '10 or '11 FJR, please let me know and I'll pass the info on to Mr. Little.
Our base camp for FODS VI will be The Moab Valley RV Park, link to their web site is below. We'll discuss the possible best dates for Daze of Moab 2013 up in Death Valley in 3 weeks.

Many thanks, Bob! I have copied this letter on to Greg "SkooterG" Marbach, SkootyG is the Administrator over at FJR Forum. He also keeps his eyes on FJR's for sale, perhaps Greg will hear about a 2010 or 2011 FJR for sale. Looking forward to riding Moab with you Springtime of 2013!

Don, The RV park we stayed at is The Moab Valley RV park.
https://www.moabvalleyrv.com/
The dirt rides we took were:
Gemini Bridges- easy
Onion Creek-easy if there is not too much water. A longer ride is available, but it was our second ride of the day, so we turned around to come back.
Long Valley-short and easy. Continued on thru Pucker Pass which was a little more difficult.
Hurrah Pass-easy, but more difficult if you continue on to Chicken Corners
Secret Spire-easy with some sand stretches.
We did another ride for a group photo for Rawhyde. I do not now the name, but would recognize the route on a map.
There is also the White Rim Trail ride. Folks left at 8am and got back around 10 pm. A lot of fall downs, fall overs, steep inclines and declines. Some riders rode other's bikes for them in particularly rough sections.
Outside of Moab, there are numerous parks and paved roads, a winery along the Colorado River and some really scenic routes, not to mention coming up to Moab thru Monument Valley
By the way, I was going to join the FJR forum. I did not see a "For Sale" sub forum. If you hear of an 2010-2011 for sale, please let me know.
Thanks,
Bob
