Great News FODS Folks, Back Road Bob has signed on for Moab in 2013. Robert Little is a very experienced Moab off road rider, he will be a huge asset to FODS 2013!

Don, Moab in 2013 sounds like a plan. I'm in!
I am really glad to hear this good news Bob, I believe that you know Moab like the back of your hand!

I'm so IN! :yahoo:

I plan on riding my GS with the old dirt farts Friday and riding the scottys castle/dantes view with the streets boys saturday

Steve

Well, the DRZ and the Tahoe are about ready for the long slog out! New tires on the tow rig(I know, blasphemy on the FJR forum, but I'm not riding the DRZ that far in the winter months of the rockies, especially since I can only take 2 days off work for this event), settled on 15/47 gearing on the DRZ, have my tool bag worked out, decided to leave my 70% Dunlop 606's on for the trip instead of switching to the Pirelli MT43's(may regret this later), and my riding gear is in tip top shape! Can't wait, counting down the days! See you all there!

Brother Brad, please add another FODS V Attendee to your Roster: AZ Beemer Mark - mnelson.

I have a room booked in Death Valley. These rides sound like a great time, thanks for putting this together. It sounds like there are people riding up, if there is room in the group I would like to join. I am not sure how to pass this info along to Papa Chuy and Uberkul.

Thanks

Mark
Brother Mark, very glad to hear you will be joining us in Death Valley! Please send a private message to AZ Beemers DaveO here on our AZB Forum. Dave will be riding up with my good friend JimInPhoenix from the www.fjrforum.com You three can coordinate your timing and routing up to Death Valley National Park.

FJR Owners of Dual Sports: FODS VI / Daze of Moab 2013 is already shaping up. "Backroad" Bob Little is joining the FJR Forum. Bob is also actively looking for a good deal on a used 2010-2011 Yamaha FJR. Bob was looking at a BMW K1300S, but I talked him into buying an FJR. If you guys hear of, or see, a sweet bargain on either a '10 or '11 FJR, please let me know and I'll pass the info on to Mr. Little.

Our base camp for FODS VI will be The Moab Valley RV Park, link to their web site is below. We'll discuss the possible best dates for Daze of Moab 2013 up in Death Valley in 3 weeks.

Many thanks, Bob! I have copied this letter on to Greg "SkooterG" Marbach, SkootyG is the Administrator over at FJR Forum. He also keeps his eyes on FJR's for sale, perhaps Greg will hear about a 2010 or 2011 FJR for sale. Looking forward to riding Moab with you Springtime of 2013!

Don, The RV park we stayed at is The Moab Valley RV park.

https://www.moabvalleyrv.com/

The dirt rides we took were:

Gemini Bridges- easy

Onion Creek-easy if there is not too much water. A longer ride is available, but it was our second ride of the day, so we turned around to come back.

Long Valley-short and easy. Continued on thru Pucker Pass which was a little more difficult.

Hurrah Pass-easy, but more difficult if you continue on to Chicken Corners

Secret Spire-easy with some sand stretches.

We did another ride for a group photo for Rawhyde. I do not now the name, but would recognize the route on a map.

There is also the White Rim Trail ride. Folks left at 8am and got back around 10 pm. A lot of fall downs, fall overs, steep inclines and declines. Some riders rode other's bikes for them in particularly rough sections.

Outside of Moab, there are numerous parks and paved roads, a winery along the Colorado River and some really scenic routes, not to mention coming up to Moab thru Monument Valley

By the way, I was going to join the FJR forum. I did not see a "For Sale" sub forum. If you hear of an 2010-2011 for sale, please let me know.

Thanks,

Bob

I'm back from vacation now if anyone needs anything.

Are you still headed up Wednesday and thinking of exploring somewhere Thursday? I am thinking of either driving up Thursday and stopping by Dumont Dunes for a few hours since I'll drive right past it or heading up Wednesday night to the hotel and riding to the Racetrack Thursday morning. That's been on my bucket list for a while and I was on the feej my last two trips. Decisions, Decisions

Dan you could always join STEVE and i at the golden Nugget wednesday night........

Yeah I saw that but I will be in my truck with a trailer. My truck is lifted and tops out at about 9ft. The parking garage at the nugget is 8ft max. Been there done that. I do like to stay there when I go on the bike.

They do have outside parking... Ah hell, just let Fairlaner park it, valet style.

You saw Ferris Bueller's Day Off, right? Sort of like that, but with parts missing from the truck when you see it again. Hey, parts you didn't need though! ;)

I'll ride out to Racetrack with you, haven't been there before. Planned on checking out Echo Canyon but that is on the agenda anyway.
