Okay, here's a small sampling of things I've built over the years. Photo quality in many cases is pretty mediocre (as are some of the pieces), since some of this was built before digital cameras were available/affordable. Hopefully these images aren't too big. I downsized them once already.

12-drawer chest for storing artist's supplies. Rift- and quartersawn red oak, ebony pulls, maple drawer sides, 200 dovetails in all

Dressers in red oak, maple drawers. These were adapted from plans from an early issue of Woodsmith

Entertainment center w/flipper doors. Rift- and quartersawn red oak. I've built a lot of these, mostly in cherry, but this was my favorite (even though the client wanted oak)

So that's what I do in the winter...

Some lovely stuff kilroy, makes my attempts look amateurish. I would love to have the time to try stuff like that, I have the workshop, but not the time. Lots of plans for when I retire though.

You like your oak don't you, is it easy to get hold of or do you simply prefer it?

This group of pics probably over-represents how much oak I use, but it's still what a lot of clients (in the midwest) ask for, and these pics, except for the wetbar, were all commissions. For the wetbar QS oak was the best choice given what's going on in the rest of my house in terms of millwork and trim. Most of the work I do is in domestic hardwoods - oak, maple, cherry, butternut, poplar, birch, elm, and walnut. I use exotics less frequently because fewer clients ask for it, but I've worked with teak, mahogany, rosewood, and ebony (more often as accents, like a drawer pull)

I've heard you talk about the stuff you have built but haven't seen any. That is some nice looking stuff.

Kilroy, that is gorgeous work! I recognized the Woodsmith design in those dressers as soon as I saw the photos.

Thanks! I'll need to keep an eye open for the program if it airs in the Twin Cities area.

Nice stuff guys! I'm a bit of a woody myself though I've yet to get really serious with the actual design and building of cabinetry.

I'm currently working with two compucarve machines and just discovered yesterday at the woodworking show I need another type of machine to increase my potential earnings.

anybody familiar with the epilog co2 laser? Dayum that thing is awsome! Looks like it's going to be the next addition ;)

Yep two of 'em. I was in the middle of a complete kitchen cabinet job and the darn thing broke <_< , so instead of waiting two weeks for repairs I went and bought another. There went the profits for that job but now with two running I get done in half the time.

As soon as I get the laser I'm going to put together a web page. Can't let that thing collect dust @ twenty large
