Back when the Feej was still ghey shiny I pulled into an overlook up at Bear Lake just as 3 other FJRs were pulling in (a '06, '05 and a '03). I walked over and said "Nice bikes! Those are BMWs, right?" and got a chuckle. After a few I mentioned the forum and how it had helped with the throttle spring, jumper mod and some other light farkling/maintenance. Not one of them had heard of us though they did say they'd check it out. Nice bunch of fellows btw.

For myself I often try and imagine what owning the Feej would be like without the forum. Sure, I'd still love it and ride the heck out of it but I doubt I'd have the same obsession relationship that I have now.

I had just felt up his wife
Well, did ya?
I probably would have felt up his Feej.

Too bad for him... for I read Don't cast your Pearls before Swine.
I love that comic!!

Seriously though, it's a lot better forum than any of the other bike forums. Take a look at sv650.org and svrider.com for forums that are a total waste of bandwidth and time.

The FJR riders at Bike Week that I met were also in the too-stupid-to-use-a-computer category too, when I asked if they were on the forum. Ah well. I guess I'm spoiled by being in the computer biz.

"I don't have time for that foolishness".

Wow. I think I would have come back with (Using my best Joe Pesci imatation) , "So what yoz saying here, That I'm some kind of "fool" ??? Do Iz amuze you in some way? So I'm a fool ...like one of doze guys with the funny hats with bells and da checkered tights?

Or I might have just cold cocked the guy and as he was laying on the ground holding his bleeding nose I would say " Funny...you look foolish to me"

The bottom line of these jokes is the guy did indirectly insult you. Which at least would have called for you to point out how much of a "fool" he was...in front of his companion... for paying 60 odd bucks for something everyelse does for free...(plus the 5-8 bucks for the gear oil)

A fool and his money are soon parted.

Um, that's evident, because they went to Bike Week. . . . . :p
Heeeeeeeyyyyy!!

Bike Week is Fun!! Except Waaaay too many Harleys!

Saw a Harley rider there once with a Tee Shirt that said: "A 15,000 Bike and 1 Month of Riding Doesn't make you a Biker"

He looked like the guy that would marry his Half Sister!!

I stopped asking after every FJR rider I chatted with (other than at WFO's) didn't know and didn't seem to care about the forum. Nice enough guys though.

The only other bike forums I've consistently found interesting were KLR650.net with great technical knowlege available, and ADVrider which has an incredible number of active members, diversity, ride reports and selling sections.

But none have a BustaNut.

I could have helped a fellow FJR owner today but I didn't... here's why. I'm at the local stealership earlier today to get the annual inspection done, when up glides a beautiful Black Cherry. I greet the gentleman and his companion and after a few minutes talking I ask if he was on the forum. He looks at me like I had just felt up his wife and says "I don't have time for that foolishness".
So the conversation wanes and my inspection is complete, but before I leave I overhear this sap being charged $65.00 for a Final Gear Oil Change! I would have offered to change the guys gear oil myself at no charge, but I didn't have time for that foolishness!
So idjets do ride FJRs.? And I thought it was a superior brain thing. What a let down.

The forums are a great way to learn and meet up with other riders as you know already. I still frequent forums for bikes I had two or three bikes ago just for the people there.
