When should fork oil be changed? Also, what brand is best to use and is it difficult?

When should fork oil be changed?

According to the FJR FSM (at least, mine...), Yamaha gives no recommendation (neither in miles nor elapsed time) for periodic change of fork oil.

Also, what brand is best...?

Yamaha lists, in the FSM, both: Suspension Oil "M1" and Suspension Oil "01" or equivalent.

In the FJR FSM under: "Disassembling the Front Fork Legs" and "Assembling the Front Fork Legs."

The answer may depend on (the technician's) abilities, shop equipment, and experience... :blink:

Thanks for the info.

Dealer wants $300 for the job and parts. Not including the oil.

Is that a fair price?

My FJR Service Manual will arrive today, so I will check it out.
