Barry's got a great ride scheduled for the 29th..........so I'm planning to go.
I just got overwhelmed with them Carnitas in SLO and that kitchen.........I got hungry.

The Swedish window cleaning girls contributed to my lack of concentration

I tell Ya.........I was bedazelled(Elizabeth Hurley).

I think I may need to send Barabus a custom Yamaha hot wire kit, provided, free of charge, by Carver Enterprises Hot Bikes, LLC. It consists of two wire nuts, a made in China wire stripper, a imatation Swiss army knife (to cut the loom with) and instructions written in Spanglish..

Well, I missed my 2400 mile STN ride to Chester , CA. The repair ended in fault codes and the engine didn't start. They promised by 1:00PM Thursday but the fault code persisted until 5:30. Missed my ride and I am having a ****** evening at home. I feel like I should have done the repair myself and saved some time. Yamaha should recognize this as a design flaw and call a recall. BTW and IMHO, cutting most wires will not save the solder joint. The tie wrap is the only thing that acts as a choke point for the solder joint. YRMV.

Barry,

Here's hopin' that they get your bike

in optimum running condition pronto. I can't says

that riding in this rainstorm would have been

that joyous.

Call over there and see if they have ordered

the "Hot Gas Carver Barbarious ignition bypass kit".

Critical Announcement

Due to fjr ignition failure, this ride will not be on FJR's but rather Schwinn Sting Ray bicycles.

Riding shorts are NOT allowed for male riders.

Errrr..... Don? are you suggesting an alternative to riding shorts, or just nothing at all. I guess that picture of the tight jeans was just too traumatic for you. Breathing room needed?

Here's a joke for Jill..Q - 'How is a bad dance like a cheap pair of underwear?'

A - 'No ballroom'!

Okay, I'm in, but now my "get there" plans have changed.

1. Cancelled the Santa Clarita hotel for the Friday night.

2. Heading up to Valley Center (near Escondido) on Friday to spend day with new girlfriend. Staying at a hotel nearby Friday night (it's way to early-on to invite her to come up and do the hotel thing up at Santa Clarita).

3. Picking her up as a passenger Saturday morning in Valley Center and heading up around 6am.

SO...

Low Level FJR Pilot and Santa Fe Dreamin' and other San Diego pilots...

Send me a PM with your cell number (if you have bluetooth/link capability when riding) and I'll give you a call and see where you are Saturday morning and if a link-up is feasible. I don't want to hold you up, and it looks like I-15 / CA-91 will be my new route into LA instead of I-5 the whole way, unless you think it would be smarter to cut over to Oceanside and go 5 all the way.

Looking good on this end for the 29th. Tim, when do you get off work?
I'm guessing three-ish. Not sure where you guys will be at that time...
I don't know either but it's called for "wheels in the well" at 10:00h and it's a good bet that there will be a fairly leisurely lunch stop so, if I had to guess I would say that the group will be somewhere between the crest of 33 (snowing?) and Ojai around 15:00h. Of course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.

Shall our little coffee clatch roundez-vous at the Ojai Valley Inn, perhaps?

Could be interesting!

With friendly encouragement already provided, I'll be there in Castaic sporting a roundel badge for a romp through the woods!

Ouch, talk about bad timing. I have a slow leak in my Diablo Strada rear after 3.5k miles. Not sure where yet, but definitely leaking. House of Motorcycles in El Cajon has Bridgestone 021's in stock for 200 for the pair plus install and opens at 8:30, or Two Wheel Tires in Santee opens at 10 and has PR-2's in stock for $370 + 20/tire to install.

I'll probably go with the 021's this time, might even just do the rear (on sale for 112). My front Strada still looks fine.

Any feedback on either place is appreciated if any San Diegans read this tonight. I'm going to get whichever tire in the morning then hit the road and meet my g/f for the day, and then head out Sat morning for the 10am meeting spot. No word from other San Diegans about crossing over and meeting up on the 5.
