Can you think of any more "F" words?

This here's actually a bunch of pictures of the Shaved Head Ride, but Bokerforks ****** report

only included unflattering pictures of the Ride Organizer, so let's start fresh.

As Patrick (RsvlFeej) noted in his entry there -

"Great Day! Clocked just over 425 miles on some of the finest roads NorCal has to offer

in weather ranging from shiver to sweat. Excellent folks to ride with and,

despite having all of the original cast present

(OM's brother Sean stopped by to say Hello at breakfast), no flight encore from OM.

As FJR Bluesman points out in post #2, OM doesn't ride with anyone (if he can avoid it),

but both Bokerfork and I were on to his tricks and showed up to breakfast 20 minutes early.

Worked out so when Feeger showed up exactly on time,

we canny types had just gotten our food - Feeger can eat impressively fast,

though, so OM was stuck with all of us. (Nice to meet ya, Al).

Guess I should get this right out in the open - Most people refer to OM as a "poor, misguided soul" -

at least when they're feeling charitable - Today, it was the literal truth.

Two GPS units in attendance - and routes were chosen and current locations

were confirmed using a 10-year old Thomas Guide, with me as map reader.

Good grief - I get lost when when I walk around my own neighborhood.

Based on my proven inability to remember any directions requiring more

than two turns, I was asked to lead large portions of the ride.

While we didn't necessarily follow the chosen paths, we did get to ride

through a lot of gorgeous country on some very fine roads

(did manage to find Scaggs Springs, Hwy 1, and Hwy 128).

Degree of road slime was pretty unpredictable since the rain passed through yesterday, but Loads of fun.

Thanks OM. I'll definitely try for another kitchen pass

next time you slip up and give advance notice..."

(And I prefer "tortured soul" to "poor, misguided soul", but Patrick's entitled to his opinion. ;)

I NEVER get lost, although people are always telling me to. :D )

So, here are a bunch of pictures of our day. And NO shaved heads.

An early start, and sunrise just as I was nearing our meeting spot.

After a large breakfast, we prepared to hit the road.

(L to R - feejer, Bokerfork, and RsvlFeej)

Note the variety of shields.

It is commonly held that shield size is inversely proportional to .....aaah, never mind.

My brother Sean (riding his "errand bike") had popped over to say good morning.

He wasn't allowed to spend his day riding with us.

Some woman has him under her thumb.

Not us four though! Huh, guys?!

Okay. Pictures of the day, as it happened, sorta.

A bit foggy in places. There are few things more thrilling than chasing 3 FJRs (at 120 mph) through the fog.

Am I right?

By mid-morning it had cleared up, and what a gorgeous day!

IMG_7687edit.jpg

Damn.

As Patrick mentioned, because of the recent wet weather,

some of the nicest curves had to be taken with more caution.

A note here - Most of these photos are taken on straighter sections, and that might be misleading.

There weren't that many straight sections on our route. But, this group rides kinda fast, and even

though I'm able to snap pics on the fly, our pace made it hard to do that in a lot of the best parts.

So, there's that.

BTW, none of these pictures are of ME! Too fast for the camera.

Full day. Really enjoyed the HELL out of it. These are good guys to ride with, and the roads around here

are nice too.

Thanks for looking in.

Excellent, OldManMichael!

I'm now starting a new dcarver tradition. Every OM RR, I select my favorite pix. At year's end, I select my favorite OM pix, and the rest will be history.

Let the selection begin.

....drumroll please..

...

...

wait for it, Cialis boy..

Not a bad RR for a .... Yellow Dome......... and you posted it was hard to take pics at 120mph...

Your bike doesn't go that fast..... 80mph just seems like 120mph to you....... ^_^

Sean looks like a fine, smart, good looking young man. Isn't it funny how each family seems to be allotted only one of those?

Good pictures as always, Michael.

PS - Happy birthday, Michael. I don't know how I missed that thread.

If I'm not mistaken, Don, YOU are the culprit who brought "hubba, hubba" back. I knew it would turn out badly.

(And let me know how that spanking goes. I'd PAY for those photos!)
