I've been doing some research for the last week or so into fuse blocks.

Just recently I purchased a Eastern Beaver PC-8 from an FJR forum member. It comes with the 76 inch leads... with the optional extra long positive lead for the FJR battery (as recommended by this forum for pillion area mounting).I've listed some of what I found available out there... below.

THE CHOICES

1. Eastern Beaver PC-8 CLICKY 1

2. Fuzeblock FZ1 CLICKY 2. --Both of these units highly recommended by this forum. There's another unit available from Twisted Throttle that looks like it might be a rebranded Fuzeblock FZ1 available here: CLICKY 2.5

3. The 10.00 Autozone/Advance Auto fuse block CLICKY 2.75

4. The do-it-yourself option CLICKY 3 or CLICKY 4.

5. Rowe Electronics PDM60 Power Distribution Module CLICKY 5

As nice as that PMD60 looks, I've been quite pleased with the PC-8 on my Oldwing.

Eastern Beaver's response to the needs of the FJR community (76" lead/longer positive option) is impressive, and their products are a joy to install.

Enjoy that PC-8!

Thanks, B-

Gonna be a rainy day today so I guess I'll begin my tear down after church. Gonna take a buncha time to install my Kristas and their controls and get the rest of my wiring in order, even before the PC-8 arrives. Looking forward to taking some pictures.

Thanks Gary for putting all these links in one place. My farkle wires are getting out of hand and a permanent solution is needed.

While I had read all these threads at different times and even bought the connector strips shown on the fjr-tips page I haven't quite got comfortable with the final result I would end up with (spaghetti).

It looks like the FZ-1 Fuzeblock would meet my current and future needs quite nicely!

One thing about the PDM60 is that the wire harness is permanent. Meaning that all of the wires will be there regardless is you need them. With a regular fuse block, you add wires as you need them. So the unit is smaller, but you're dealing with the full bundle.

I use a fuse block by Electrical Connection, get the Universal one. Comes with relay and 10 ga. input/output wires, has option to disable battery charger when ignition key turned. 6 circuits, switched by the relay. However, I do like the PC-8, looks good and more sophisticated than the EC one.. Not a fan of the fancier ones with onboard relay, etc. but they're OK.

Enjoy Gary. I've gone through Jim for almost everything; PC-8, harnesses, switches, etc. Top notch stuff. He was quick to ship and respond to my e-mails. I was sold on the quality and features of the PC-8.
