I ordered the G2 Throttle Tamer on a Wednesday and got it on Friday. I had sent my seat to Spenser for the LD mod the week before. It took all of 20 minutes to install the G2. I used a straight screwdriver with an 8" shaft, 1/4" diameter and 3/16" tip. I slipped it into the grip about 3/4 of the way and shot a very little WD40 in and the moved it about 1/3 of the way around the grip and repeated the WD40. I did it one more time and then removed the screwdriver and pulled on the grip. It slipped right off, no problem. I did not even need to use the compressor to force air into it to help release it. It was an easy job. GOOD! Incidently, I do have the Throttlemeister and it required no adjustments in it to work properly. I screwed it on and it worked.

The BAD, no seats so I could not take the bike out and try the G2 to see how it works on the road.

I received the seats back tonight and installed them on the bike. GOOD! It is raining so I did not feel like suiting up and going out after dark on wet roads to try the G2 and seats. BAD! The seats will need a good all day ride to determine if they might be my solution. We have a forecast of possible ice and snow starting about noon tomorrow and last through Saturday afternoon. It looks like it will be early next week before I can get out and check things out. You know what they say, anticipation if half the fun. :yahoo:

I have no doubt it will all be good when weather improves. I failed to mention in the original post that I thoroughly washed out the grip before reinstalling it. I am sure most would know that but just in case there might be someone who did not, now you know.

IF the grip starts slipping...and it might when weather warms up.....spray the throttle tube down with cheap-ass hairspray.

Slide the grip back on, and when the hairspray dries, it's glued in place, just like this:

RadioHowie I did use a little hairspray when I put the G2 on. I am happy to report that I finally got a break in the weather and distracting activities.

The G2 is the best farkle I have put on the bike, although I do not have many compared to most people on here. It works just like everyone said it would. I was very pleased with my dealing with Sam at G2. He was very helpful and told me to call him if I had any problems. I did not.

As mentioned previously, I had the Spenser mod done to my seats to include lowering. The first trip out I found that it did eliminate the butt burn in my lower thighs (butt) with the qualification that it moved it to the upper part of my butt. Due to the lowering, there is a small ridge at the back of the seat that struck me in that position.

Today I took it out again after adding a piece of sheep skin I had left from a previous bike. I cut it down to fit the rider's seat and I am happy to report after doing about 4 hours and 200 miles I had no butt burn. A quick and easy fix. I am now very happy with both of my new additions. Now I am ready for SFO the end of this month. Is it time to pack yet? :clapping:

Sounds good!

I put 400 miles on my Spencer'd seat today and really have no complaints. I have a sheepskin as well, but my daughter was using it after the first 200 miles.
