I have been using a Garmin zumo for a couple years. Well went to turn it on and the screen will not respond to touch. I try to calibrate the screen but it will not take. Anyone have this happen? Fixes? Experience sending it back to Garmin? Thanks

How long have you had it? I forget what their warranty time is but I had to send my 660 back once because the updated map download from their website screwed mine up. They sent me a new one back, so they seem to have pretty good customer service.

You should probably try a Master Reset. Note this will erase everything and return the unit to factory settings. You should backup any waypoints and routes you want to keep in Mapsource or BaseCamp. Here is your procedure. Give it a try, and then report back.

1. Remove device from any type of power source

2. Power the device Off

3. Place and hold your finger in the bottom right corner of the touchscreen

4. Power the device On

5. Release the power button after the device powers On

6. Continue to hold your finger on the touchscreen until you see "Do you really want to erase all user data?"

7. Release your finger from the touchscreen

8. Touch Yes

9. Follow the onscreen prompts

You may have dirt wedged between the touchscreen surface & the bezel - run a business card around the edge and it might clean it out.

Will try the master reset and business card trick I did wash it lightly and nothing happened it acts like I am touching the far left of screen when I touch the middle. Might give them s call also. I thinkbthr warranty is up. It was purchased in 09.

Yes I did on my ZUMO 550 and they are very good about returns and exchanges. I think it was $150 for the new unit when I was out of warrantee

You may need a new digitizer. A number of fiolks on this forum have replaced their screens with great success. Edit: I found the link but the photos don't show for me ....

I have a Zumo 550. Once it locked up, wouldn't turn on. The fix was to take the battery out, put it back in, and turn it on again.
