Really had my heart set on a Gen2 FJR, but now Im also expanding my search ro Gen1s as well. Found a mint condition with 10K miles. Asking $8900... ya I know he needs a reality check. But help me price a nice Gen 1 bike with low miles. Bike in question is a 2005

$6000 KBB value on an '05 without ABS....sounds right to me. $6500 w/abs? $500 more for ABS...hmmmmm.

Yeah, okay, another $500 for ABS. I accept that.

$8900? What bgross said in spades!!!

It's worth what you are willing to pay. If it's mint and only 10000 miles it might be worth looking at. I paid top buck for my 03 in 06 and never looked back.

UNLESS the deal includes aftermarket Penske or Ohlins rear suspension and Traxxion or GP Suspensions forks and things like a Zumo 665, Autocom, Kenwood communications, Radar detector, custom seat, aftermarket windshield, Clearwater lights, Top Case and a bunch of other farkles. Seriously, many of us have more than the KBB value of the bike in accessories. You can buy them on the bike, or pay more separately. The bike described above is my own, but for 8900 I'd demand the guy's Tanze tank and his underwear.

Yikes!

Here's a non-abs 05 with 10k miles that went for a more appropriate $6,000. I still wouldn't have paid that much for a non-abs but it is within reason:

And here is an 06 AE with 14k miles that went for $6950:

05abs w/ 7k miles for $7k. Talk this guy down $500 and bingo!: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcy/3689853901.html

04 non-abs, 16k miles, $7k: https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/mcd/3661915475.html

Last summer I paid $6800 for my gen 1 with 17k mi. Had a few extras - PC III, full Holeshot exhaust, new leather Corbin seat, factory grip heaters, top trunk with backrest. Also came with the stock exhaust system and seat, both mint. Bike is very nice cosmetically. I didn't feel like I got a great deal but I wanted the bike at the height of riding season in the PacNorWet. I wouldn't put too much value in 10,000 miles over 20,000 miles, these machines are pretty tough.

Farkles are a bit spendy, like mentioned above, it might be worth it if it's well farkled and needs nothing.

BTW, you won't be disappointed with a well priced superior gen1.
