When my '15 was in the break-in period I would occasionally get an error message but since break-in I haven't seen the message until I got stuck in a line of cars this morning. I need to look into the ECO error that sometimes pops up. I notice that the engine performance is pretty flat every time I get the code. Man, these Gen IIIs seem to have a lot of problems.

Yeah, it's a pretty dumb feature to have included on a 1300cc, 145 hp motorcycle. If you wanted to be green you'd probably have a 250cc tiddler or an e-Bike.

When I first saw that error on my bike, I just pulled over, found an oak tree to hug, and I felt much better. That is all.

Aaaaaaannnnd I'm an *****. Sitting here trying to figure out what E.C.O. might indicate.

Goes away with a twist of the wrist.

Welcome to the conversation, Jon.

Probably a Prius owner designed it. Fortunately, I only get that error code when slabbing it out of Flatistan. :dirol:

Erm, took me a minute or two to realise what you were on about.

Then I remembered this pic.

Doh. :headbonk:

Curiously, my dash is different from the picture. That 'T' seems to be missing, but I've got an 'S' instead ;) .

In the pre-release model that light said "*****" but marketing made them change it for the production model. Too many hurt feelings and all.

I have found a work around that doesn't work very well, but let me know if you find a different way to keep the E C O error from popping up.

If I keep the throttle pinned in 1st thru 3rd and modulate speed with the clutch, I am finding that the error code goes away. Please tell me if you find a different way to solve this...pulling onto my garage is getting interesting!

Have you bothered to search on "light" or other similar terms? It's been discussed many, Many, MANY times before on this forum. I find 5.06 x 109 hits alone.

I searched for the trouble code ECO, nothing came up and it's not listed in the diAG codes. Even though it's Friday I still bravely started this thread hoping *somebody* may be able to help. Perhaps mcatrophy is on to something, I'll have to see if it may be linked to my dash display which says S even though the manual shows a T. I'm sure something is broken and will need a factory recall.

Good luck since you've probably got one of those gray-market Latvian bikes with alternatively tuned engines. You might check to see if your exhaust pipes are hanging symmetrically or not.
