When my '15 was in the break-in period I would occasionally get an error message but since break-in I haven't seen the message until I got stuck in a line of cars this morning. I need to look into the ECO error that sometimes pops up. I notice that the engine performance is pretty flat every time I get the code. Man, these Gen IIIs seem to have a lot of problems.
There is a "Break-in period" on these things? I read on the internet that I didn't need to worry about that. Since these Gen 3s are so cheap...

I have to admit that I did not see what section this was posted in at first and was completely confused. I have to thank LittleJon for turning on the light for me.

I did the Madman Break-In. I made 10 miles worth of 0 to 130 mph runs at WOT then changed the oil. While I was changing the oil I was surprised at the amount of metal shavings that remained in the engine from the milling operations. I never got the ECO error message while I did that. I tried the cruise control to see if it would set over 80 mph and almost immediately got the ECO error so I turned the cruise off.

You guys are all turned around on this. My ECO light stays on and it makes my tires last longer and makes me hella smooth in the twisties. I think it stands for "Engage Cool Operator".

This sounds dangerous. Better file a report with the NTSB.
Better call Bram!
So far this is just one long episode of failure. No need to call Bram until the factory fix has failed to work at least 3 times in a row. I don't seem get the ECO error very often so maybe it's ok. I never get the error at traffic lights.

E C O

Epic Canadian OOPS

Not sure why its reading on my bike...but like I said, my workaround is working...so far.

"ECO" is actually Japanese for "You are using the wrong brand/grade of motor oil and/or tire and/or final drive oil. You may burst into flames at any time."

Nope. And I'm pretty sure everybody's Gen III throws that code frequently because nobody has actually decoded the PERFECT combo.

Dayum, it's Friday already?? Well done Mr Ion!

That Jack Nicolson image busts me up lol.

Set the cruise properly and the ECO light comes on and stays on. I'm such a noble fellow: saving the planet at 85 mph.
