That's beautiful, great paint! The new height actually makes the tank look shorter. You can get a tired butt between fill ups.

As cool as it is, I wouldn't want one. I really like my big Yamaha tank bag. I wouldn't be able to put it on this expanded tank - it would be too high. As much as I would like a tank like this, I couldn't live without a big tankbag where I can easily get at a bunch of stuff.
Scooter, surprisingly it isn't that much higher than stock; maybe an inch. When you sit on the bike you don't see any difference, I may have had to move my gps a 1/2 inch at most to avoid my top case.

I don't notice any difference except with a full tank in FJR advance cornering (riding with Panman and Neihart) when I need to pull it over a bit. At slow speeds, it turns tight corners without the top heavy feeling with the stock tank, which was really helpful in a gravel parking lot. Once the tank gets to half tank, it rides like stock.

New tank, new "to me" plastic (thanks HYCLE), and new paint job = teaching an old dog a new trick. :)

Since CBA riders don't GAF about IBR silly rules, I'm interested in a FrankenTank too.

If the tank is only 1" taller than OEM, then wow, that opens up opportunity..
