That is a great weld job.... the person who did that knows what he is doing.Gday guys,
I've just finished repairing my subframe for the second time. I highly recommend you use one of these kits if you don't have the Givi 357. I probably would have used one if they were available at the time.

I agree that he is a good welder, but, he does not know how to fix it. It was not reinforced and will most likely break again in the same area if the rear rack is loaded as before. Welding anneals and weakens the metal next to the weld.the person who did that knows what he is doing.
I'll pull the plastic off of the left side and send you a picture tomorrow.I guess I'd like to see where the error showed up - please send me a piccy so I can evaluate it. I weld these up on a jig and then recheck after welding so they are all made pretty consistent. Maybe your subframe is already bent.I don't really see any issues at this point. Most likely, I will send you a new L-clip made to closer tolerances that would pull the stiffy arm closer to the subframe. The good thing is if there were a crack failure of your subframe, the stiffy kit will keep everything all together.
I had a little gap/stand-off at one of the bolt holes after installing the L-clips. Took it back off and gave it a little twist and the gap was gone..
The gap/stand-off I was talking about was at one of the top bolt holes, not at the bottom at the L-clips...I had a little gap/stand-off at one of the bolt holes after installing the L-clips. Took it back off and gave it a little twist and the gap was gone..
