Well Folks another summer is upon us and a multitude of rally opportunity's await. A select few here will attend the majority and a few more will hit half.

I guess my point is you need to at some point forget about the cost and just fuking do it!

Life only gives us one fuking shot and you have to run it hard till they close the lid on yer ***.. For a number of years I played it safe and lived what I thought was the safe way..

Boom! I wasn't doing ****! My first cardiac incident was at age 39.. Some 14 years ago Made it a year and a day and Cardiac arrest due to prescribed drugs just aboot got me.. Didn't see no light just a strange sucking sound before I was drawn into a swirling vortex.

I managed four decent years till another incident resulted in a chest zipper (quad bypass)

I've made it almost 10 years without incident and decided a few years back *** it..I'm /we're gonna run this ride into the dirt.

Guys, I see a number of ya wanting to do something but money or fear of the unknown holds ya back.. Get on the bike an just do it..

When yer dead are ya gonna worry about this ****? Really?

Carver the *** hat that he is, pretty much paid my way to NERDS last summer.. Love ya dude.

Thus my awakening.. ;)

All I'm saying is don't let something like this slip by.. Don't let the almighty dollar rob you of seeing new places meeting new people.

If yer god fearing don't sweat it you'll hook up above the clouds.. If yer not?? then who gives a ****!

Spend what ya don't have and get out and have some fun... :)

Good advice Bust, just remember to knock on wood, No?

I'm close to your age and had some different thoughts about ...Life.

In my state, TN, we've had 35 motorcycle related deaths so far this year. May be a record but it got me to thinking since a young lady that people knew at work recent died due to overshooting a curve and hitting a truck.

How many times have I done that or had a close call and only been lucky enough to survive?

So, I was actually thinking of getting off bikes. My Dad is 83 and still riding, God forbid if he took a spill at this age he may not recover from it. So, why not set an example for him to step off the murdercycles?

I've always wanted a slick Sports Car like a BMW Z3 Coupe, maybe now is the time to clean out the garage and do just that? No one in the family is interested in bikes except my brother and Dad? My son is into sports cars, wife will not ride, mom always disliked them.

Then I jumped on my FJR for a day and got that thrill of speed and freedom that I've always loved.

All of our days are numbered, when it comes it comes.

My greatest regret about riding is all the years I didn't....But then they were some pretty hard partying years

Mohammed Ali may have been known for his self serving sayings like, "...float like a butterfly, sting like a bee," but he got this one right: “Don't count the days, make the days count.”

Great post, I agree 100%. I am 41 and Dad will be 67 in August. I know there will come a time when the miles will catch up to him and he won't be able to ride anymore. Until then we share a love for motorcycles and the rides we get to take. Two of my cousins now ride, partly because they thought their uncle was cool with his motorcycle. We all make at least one trip a year together because we know it does not last forever.

I'll include a shot of him as we are leaving for Arkansas last October. A diverse group of bikes, you don't have to guess which is the fastest.

Barry I totally agree. I see too many people saving for retirement only to get to sick to do it anyway. So I say do it while you can enjoy it.

Ha, ha... retirement. That's a joke right?

I've pretty much resigned myself to the idea that I will most likely never be able to retire (unless you count the FDN as retirement).

I'll either croak before I get there, or when I do reach that age I won't have enough $ 'cause I'm spending it all now.

Whatever...

Ya *******.

(Do you think you'll ever come out and ride California?)
Yep It's gonna happen old dude
Brother Mick, I've told our "Miss Priscilla" here at least a hundred times if he can jump a jet to Phoenix that he has a bike to ride and a place to stay. He's a Dumb ***!

He can pick from my stable of motos which bike he wants to ride. He can even ride "Gisele", my BMW K1600GT! I'm so stupid I let SkooterG ride her, so can *******!

I've been trying for many years to get Old-****-For-Brains to fly and ride SW-FOG. But no, he's way too busy playing Hide-The-Weenie over in Ohio with BikerGeek99!

Old Michael, know what would get Bustanut joker out of Owosso-Fecking-Michigan and out to California? I tempt him to ride to Creston, to soak with his Boyfriend Carver!

Is that your new term for "altitude sickness" or are ya PUI again, buddy?

Too bad you didn't make it down to Caldwell with Wayne and Jeff for Wheaton's Ramble this weekend. Good times, great people. :yahoo:

What happens at Tech Day stays at Tech Day, Don. BTW - Sooze and I are already discussing plans for SW-FOG 2013. We wanna do it. We'll figure out a way to make it happen or so help me...

Sounds great Andy, that you and Sooze will ride out to SW-FOG 2013! Just make sure that your Boyfriend Bust "comes" along with you, I will make sure his Girlfriend dcarver will be there too!
