Most of the PCS movers I have seen on this end do a great job of crating. Check the straps to be sure they are placed well and guitar string tight.
I would strongly suggest additional insurance for your shipment. I paid about $150 for $13,000 worth of cargo insurance from Texas to Seoul Korea in 2007. E-mail at: [email protected], or call (888)286-5647 in the U.S., or (714)427-5858. Anyone who has made a claim at the claims office will know of whence I speak.
This crating was done by Tony O of Yamaha sports center. He used a atv shipping crate and wrapped it with Tyvek. Bike was trucked to LAX, then flown to Seoul, and came in perfect. I left the bags on, but if I was PCS'ing, would remove the bags and the windshield, perhaps even the seat, FWIW...
