First trip on a new bike is always a learning experience. I learned that a magnetic tank bag (for me) was a pain after the second time I fueled up and a few small scratches showed up. THAT and the fact I’m a bit thick around the midsection made it uncomfortable to lean over the bag and reach for anything. I really didn’t use it for too much other than to carry the phone, camera, gloves and such. I did use it to carry a water bottle for hydration but given my friends had to fuel up at 150 miles that negated the need to have water close at hand.
So the search was on for an alternative to the tank bag. I looked at a lot of different set ups including the Aqua box. I settled on the Givi S850 universal GPS holder at $65.00. I liked the size, compactness, and the fact I can access it while running thru the zipped compartments instead of opening the whole unit up. Well it’s not real suited for the FJR bars as I found out so the mod was on. :yahoo:
