My glove box died tonight. Not the solenoid, but the actual latch. ????? 226k on my first FJR with no issues. Not sure what happened here but the plastic was getting chewed up.

So, I need a new one. Anybody out there got one they can part with?

I got one off a Gen 1. It has a crack around the hex bolt hole you can see when you pop the lid. I would just glue it from the other side and it would be sweet and would not be seen. What do you think??

Had the same thing happen to me on my 05. Went to home depot, bought a magnetic spring loaded cabinet latch

and it works great. One push and it pops up a half inch or so, then open with a finger. Very handy!

I thought I might have to add a bigger magnet down the road, but I have nailed some pretty big bumps-

and it has worked fine. I have some pics if you're interested. I just couldn't see shelling out the $ for replacement

parts... but then I am kinda cheap.

the plastic internals in mine also busted due to some frequent abuse on my part. Simple velcro is my friend. She opens anytime I want her to!
