Its great for recharging cell phone and ipods. ;)

Not trying to be a smart ass, but by the book:

"The accessory connected to the auxiliary DC jack should not be used with the engine turned off, and the load must never exceed 30 W (2.5 A), otherwise the battery may discharge."

OK, powerlet is the answer.......

any good spot to mount outlet, that I dont need to drill the plastic. prefer not to put a hole in fairing if I can find a decent spot.

any pics? thanks...........

silverdog, I connected a powerlet-like outlet to my Fuzeblock positioned in the tray under the driver's seat. The outlet (fused @ 10A) is contained under one of the "rubber bands" under the pillion seat. May not be the most ingenious spot, but it works great as I found out last Friday when had a flat rear tire to repair and re-air on the way up to TN. Sorry....no pics.

Lookie here: CA Sport Touring powerlet page.

Though I'd think you could make your own bracket. and mount it where you want.

I drilled the right black dash panel on my bike and mounted 2 powerlet sockets (with caps). 1 is unswitched and fused direct to the battery (for an air compressor or?. The other is switched that I use to power my tank bag for my phone, autocomm, PTT GRIMS radio, etc.

I probably have a picture somewhere......

I also blew the glovebox fuse the first (and second) time I plugged in my mini-compressor. I've run a small GPS off it, and that's about it. Not much use IMHO.

Rather than add a Powerlet, I swapped the connector on my air pump to the same SAE 2-pin connector that my Aerostich vest uses... then if I need to use it I just plug into the vest outlet and 'voila'.
