The Sports are all about "what have you done for me lately?" logic... is that some sort of rule or is that your opinion. Because if that is a known rule please produce some sort of documentation or other evidence (betcha can't).
I'd think that last Sundays game would be a great piece of evidence, those 5 SB wins didn't seem to help much not even the win against the Phillies made any difference in the outcome.

Past performance is no guarantee of future results. Rule.

Chick, daniel, how do you guys live with this every day :banghead:

You're welcome.
The Sports are all about "what have you done for me lately?" logic... is that some sort of rule or is that your opinion. Because if that is a known rule please produce some sort of documentation or other evidence (betcha can't). If that is your opinion I find it awful strange coming from someone who introduced a 35 year old video in an earlier post. But hey, you're welcome to it. Hang on to that. Hope it works out for you. By the way, it was 13 years since our last playoff win, and er, it was not Arizona that we beat then... it was Minnesota, 40-15. Would love to discuss facts with you, but it appears that you don't have any.

Oh, and I may have wrongly assumed that you meant the last playoff win before this year. If I did please forgive me... but this year wasn't Arizona either. It was Philly. Thanks for playing.
It is a "what have you done for me lately" sport, just like every other sport since free agency came into play, many years ago. Believe it or not; I've found the fans that don't, but only when they have been knocked out, are fans of the Cowboys and the Packers. Not all, but a lot, of each group. Chests all puffed out, like they were here in Texas last week, and as soon as they are sent packing, here comes that old trip down memory lane... Honestly, the Cowboys and Packer teams aren't hated around the country, it's their fans. Hint: when your team is done, they're done. See you next year.

Regarding the 1975 pushoff, notice I didn't say that we would have won the Super Bowl had that not happened, or that the Vikings would have been the best team of all time, blah, blah, blah... It was a BS call, then and now. And a well placed whiskey bottle toss.

You're right about the Arizona/Philly mixup. I guess I wasn't paying attention that weekend, my team had the weekend off, having earned a bye with their regular season record. Congrats on your win; after missing out on a playoff win for all the naught decade, you were due!

rckcrwn,

Not all fans are like that down here, so it's fine. Then there is that lack of snow thing.

That's baseball, Dude. Come back when the clue arrives.

Why? Because you say so?

Wow, Dude. You're actually whining about a ref's call that happened 35 years ago AND calling someone else a whiner at the same time. Classic.

You're right about the Arizona/Philly mixup. I guess I wasn't paying attention that weekend, my team had the weekend off, having earned a bye with their regular season record. Congrats on your win; after missing out on a playoff win for all the naught decade, you were due!

Forgiven.

Never have needed you to justify my actions to anyone. Don't need you to now.

If only your dog could talk...

It would say...

"Are you serious?"

I believe we hit a nerve. Novocain anyone? Steel, you're usually a funny guy here. It's a friggin' game played by multi-millionaires, fergawdssakes!! :D

BTW, your team was even easier to hate when you had TO. My team (also with 5 rings and going back as far) got rid of the chump sometime after his BS dance on the 50 yd line in your stadium. So we do have that in common. B)

Holy CRAP! I take back my statement about liking to watch two Texans fight.

Steel...wassup dude? Is it this important? Or is it a matter of being Texan and not letting the other guy "win"?

Holy CRAP! <walking away shaking my head in puzzlement>

Exskibum, you couldn't hit a nerve with me in a sports conversation on my worst day! I love this crap! I may hit-to-hurt, but if you can't take the heat, yada, yada, yada. I just make a habit of trying to give better than I take... you know play-to-win. It's the COWBOY WAY! Never, ever any hard feelings (unless to you of course, if you keep on bringing up that miscreant T.O.). Great player, but what a pain in the ***!

The thread started as a Viking love fest. That's well deserved! They've earned it! It turned into a Cowboy dogpile and I decided I wanted to play. Dallas is an easy team to hate. Doesn't mean Cowboy fans are going to sit idly by and watch it happen. Especially from the fans of an organization that has won exactly ****! But I digress. Much love (but not luck), Viking fans. And much love to the members of this forum... one and all... even Bust!

I was wondering why this steel guy has such a case of the a** on a forum that isn't about the Dallas Cowboys. Why would someone get that worked up about that team, especially since their season is over? And it was a season, at least in Cowboy terms, that was kinda successful. Sitting at home on the couch, sure, but at least they finally won a playoff game this century, right? And then it struck me...

Keith Brooking, you're not such a tool after all, now that I know you have an FJR, (or at least post on the FJR board). And I can see why you're frustrated. After all, you were supposed to win last week! You're the Cowboys, goshdarnit! Doesn't Roger Goodell know that? You guys shouldn't have to play anyone in the NFC playoffs, you should just go straight to the the SB! And not only did you have to play, but that old guy from the Vikings didn't get the memo about not lighting you guys up with four touchdown passes. He's 40, so you know he knows of your aura! What was he thinking? You tried to alert the Vikings sideline that they weren't following the script, and Jared Allen, of all players, told you to get your azz back on your side of the field! Jared Allen!!! Didn't he read the papers beforehand, the ones that said DeMarcus Ware would be applying the pressure in that game, not Jared and his buddies? 6 sacks of Romo! That's not respecting the Cowboys, and it sure is forgetting that that they won a SB in 1996! When Jared turned Jason Whitten into the Human Turnstile, it was obvious that he had not gotten the memo. And the aftermath of the game hasn't helped in any way. Why, just Googling "Keith Brooking Crying" brings up thousands of hits, with most of them echoing Troy Aikman and Jimmy Johnson's comments; if you don't want that old guy scoring, stop them! Why doesn't the country take the Cowboy's side? After all, you're America's team, right? And Troy and Jimmy!!! What a bunch of turncoats!!! They never achieved the greatness that you have, Keith, and their jealousy is definitely showing.

I'm sorry I was so hard on you, Keith. I tell you what; to try and make it up, I'll send an email to Roger Goodell tomorrow, and ask him to intervene. The heck with the regular season, I'll ask him to tell the Vikings they have to stay home, and you guys can..., no, scratch that. I was going to ask him about this weekend, but the Saints don't belong to be there ahead of the Cowboys, either. You guys should go straight to Miami, and wait for whoever will fall prey to you this year; Colts or the Jets. It's a big thing to ask, but I'm sure the commish will be fine with it; after all, you guys are America's Team!

Wow. A rant. You're so original. You sure scolded us. You ran out of truth so you went back to hate. I bet you lose damn near every argument that you get yourself into. There's a reason for that. There's a reason that the the Vikings have never won a Superbowl. Truly, there is. If you'd like me to enlighten you, I will. Or maybe I'll just continue to let you rant... and suck... and lose... like your team...

I see. Apparently, it's an art form in TX. Wheaties, was it you who alluded to that somewhere?

By all means, continue . . .

I won't bring 81 up again, if you won't. But to respond to your comment as someone who apparently shares a similar opinion, I concluded that the man was so blessed with physique, athleticism and talent that there just wasn't room for a scrap of humility or sense of t.e.a.m. Rice taught him a lot about playing wide receiver in the NFL, but the class act part wasn't ever assimilated. A shame, too. BTW, isn't he about due to allege that TonyR is a homosexual and that the Buffalo QBs are all ******* prone to injury and failure to throw to him?

Well yeah, ...barb kicked you in the huevos over on the DVD thread also!
Yup, Don. But I noticed that when she kicked me, her foot sorta lingered there for a little bit,

ifyaknowwhatImean. I felt ... used.

:D :p

Okay, back to this effing life-or-death football talk.

Wheatie, you've not become a fan of those smelly Bears, have you?
"lingered", you mean my shoe got stuck to something sticky there. it's ok to admit it here, you are among friends
