My son just got home from Iraq, with nary a scratch.

His 5 year enlistment was 6 months from complete when they sent him over for a year, extending him for an extra 6 months.

I didn't realize how worried I was until I felt a huge weight lift as he landed in Savannah.

He has re-enlisted for 3 more years. The good news is, he will be stationed at Ft. Meade in Maryland and will not be deployed again.

He is trained as a Persian Farsi language specialist, and will be in the same building as his wife, who is a civilian now, and works for an "agency that shall not be named."

They gave him $17,000 tax free, and will let him attend school during his 3 years. Amazing how they grow up!

Good to hear! One of our firemans kids just came back from his 2nd tour in 3 yrs and may o back w/ the next group :glare: . I think 2 tours in 3yrs is enough for anybody's kid let alone this kid keeps going to "the triangle"

Glad yours is safely home!

Good to hear he has returned home and safe!!!!! :yahoo: :yahoo:

Please tell him "Thank you for giving his time for our freedom".

Dude,

You must be a proud Dad! Please accept my conveyance of Deep Appreciation to you, your family, and your Son's service to our country!!

That is a great news. Just heard last week that my friend who is doing his second tour in Iraq is coming home in July instead of last year.

Thanks for the kind comments. I will be visiting him at the end of the month, and I will show him all of the thanks and remarks from my FJR friends.
